Now I've seen the worst of the left but I bet I haven't.

Posted: Feb 25, 2017

"Pray on your own time!" some shouted during the minister's opening prayer, which has been done at town halls since time imemorial.

I have no problem with anyone showing up to a town hall meeting and respectfully expressing their opinions.  I'd expect that from either side of the aisle.  This behavior - the depth of my disgust is simply inexpressible.

...and I'm betting they wouldn't have shouted down an imam.

;

There is something - called

[ In Reply To ..]
separation of church and government. We don't live in the same world we did before. We have multiple religions in our country. A solution would have been to have a person from all religions up there saying their prayer. Since this would be also in violation of the separation of church and government, then maybe nobody should pray at government functions. Like it or not, it is the way it is.

Read the last line of my post again. Your argument is - fatuous...

[ In Reply To ..]
...and in no way justifies the behavior.

I did read - your last

[ In Reply To ..]
line and that is your assumption. I stand by what I said.

How do you know it was the left? Republicans are afraid - of losing their Obamacare

[ In Reply To ..]
and have been showing up in droves to let their feelings be known.
Please. This really isn't hard...and it isn't about - Obamacare either.

Everyone should want to lose their Obamacare. - Or NoCareBummer, if you like.
[ In Reply To ..]

The left always misused the "separation of..." - All that means is the govt can't

[ In Reply To ..]
set up a religion like the Church of England did.

The real origin of the phrase is not found in the Constitution.

This is where it is found..

The Church of the Jews under the Old Testament in the type and the Church of the Christians under the New Testament in the anti-type, were both SEPARATE from the world; and that when they have opened a gap in the HEDGE, or WALL OF SEPARATION, between the garden of the Church and the wilderness of the world.

This means that if God's people sin, God will let the government trample the religious rights of the church, in the same way that when Israel sinned, God let the surrounding nations invade and trample them. But it is not found in the Constitution.

Thomas Jefferson's letter was taken out of context and people still believe it to this day.

-A Nation Born for Religious Tolerance No Longer Tolerates Its Founders' Religion

I consider the government of the United States as interdicted by the Constitution from inter-meddling with religious institutions, their doctrines, discipline, or exercises.

This results not only from the provision that no law shall be made respecting the establishment or free exercise of religion, but from that also which reserves to the states the powers not delegated to the United States..." Jefferson continued:

"Certainly no power to prescribe any religious exercise, or to assume authority in religious discipline, has been delegated to the General government. It must then rest with the States as far as it can be in any human authority...

Separation - old and burned out

[ In Reply To ..]
Separation of church and state" is a phrase used by Thomas Jefferson and others expressing an understanding of the intent and function of the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States which reads: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

Isn't it weird how the same people hear screaming about the - press, don't seem to care that freedom of

[ In Reply To ..]
religion is in the same amendment? They love the govt telling religious business owners what they can and can't do.

Privilege is based on the theory that journalists will - report the truth, which clearly

[ In Reply To ..]
they do not. Most of the news today is just Democrat activism, not real news.

CNN doesn't need any facts in order to repeat fake news. - This should save them some money

[ In Reply To ..]
and make it easier, not behind hindered by actual events.

CNN doesn’t have to be there to make up fake news and lies.

It's like they throw things at the wall to see what sticks. - It's hard to know what to believe

[ In Reply To ..]
anymore.

I remember when Sheila Jackson Lee bashed Rush - Limbaugh on the house floor. Now THAT'S

[ In Reply To ..]
government overreach. A private citizen being based simply for having different political views. That's dangerous government.

Harry Reid wrote an inflammatory letter about Rush and got 41 Democrats to sign it. - Rush promptly sold it on eBay

[ In Reply To ..]
and 2.1 million for it.

This is the government REALLY trying to shut down free speech.

This is what the first amendment means. Attending a stupid press conference is not the same thing.
I don't seem to remember the "press" having a problem - with that.

Religious business owners - Impeach now

[ In Reply To ..]
can do anything they want if they sell to private groups - their church members, clubs, religious schools, etc. But when business is open to the public you cannot discriminate.

So you think that a Muslim business owner has to - participate in a Jewish

[ In Reply To ..]
ceremony? And if they refuse they can be sued?

They are always contradicting themselves. Like - called Trump, BaAnnon and

[ In Reply To ..]
Sessions anti-Semites,

When KEITH ELLISON, U.S. Rep., D-Minn., defender of Louis Farrakhan, and leading candidate for the DNC chair said: F- THE WHITE DEVIL JEWS!!

DNC stood up and cheered and clapped.

Remember, this is the party that booed God - a few years ago.

[ In Reply To ..]
I'll bet you would have had no objection. Am I right? Religion has no place in politics or government in America.

They disrupted opening prayers, the Pledge of Allegiance and - the National Anthem. Many of

these groups are Obama's OFA groups.

TALKING POINTS--- An Obama-tied activist group training tens of thousands of agitators to protest President Trump’s policies plans to hit Republican lawmakers supporting those policies even harder this week, when they return home for the congressional recess and hold town hall meetings and other functions.

Organizing for Action, founded by Obama and featured prominently on his new post-presidency website, is distributing a training manual to anti-Trump activists that advises them to bully GOP lawmakers into backing off support for repealing ObamaCare, curbing immigration from high-risk Islamic nations, and building a border wall.

OFA calls on activists to mobilize against Republicans from now until Feb. 26, when “representatives are going to be in their home districts.” The protesters disrupted town halls earlier this month, including one held in Utah by House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz, who was confronted by hundreds of angry demonstrators claiming to be his constituents.

The manual, published with OFA partner “Indivisible,” advises protesters to go into halls quietly so as not to raise alarms, and “grab seats at the front of the room but do not all sit together.” Rather, spread out in pairs to make it seem like the whole room opposes the Republican host’s positions. “This will help reinforce the impression of broad consensus.”

It also urges them to ask “hostile” questions — while keeping “a firm hold on the mic” — and loudly boo the the GOP politician if he isn’t “giving you real answers.” “Express your concern [to the event’s hosts] they are giving a platform to pro-Trump authoritarianism, racism, and corruption,” it says.

The goal is to make Republicans, even from safe districts, second-guess their support for the Trump agenda, and to prime “the ground for the 2018 midterms when Democrats retake power.” “Even the safest [Republican] will be deeply alarmed by signs of organized opposition,” the Obama document states, “because these actions create the impression that they’re not connected to their district and not listening to their constituents.”

CALL CONGRESS---http://www.contactingthecongress.org/

Demand OFA's non-profit status be removed.

Organization against oppression is a good thing - You can thank us later

[ In Reply To ..]
Are they making a profit? No worse than churches robbing the populace; and they are nonprofit.

Conservatives - Resist

[ In Reply To ..]
have a habit of damning an entire group of people when one person is boorish. Should I assume that when one right-winger, like the person in Kansas who just shot two Indian engineers, everyone on that side is a gun-crazy assassin?

These invisible hand types would rather see the nation - descend into chaos than to cede

[ In Reply To ..]
power to US citizens who elected Trump.

Funny you should mention Chaos and Trump - exactly where we are headed

[ In Reply To ..]
Trump has a chaotic approach to everything. It truly is a wonder he became president, but even more a wonder is that he has no brains behind the operation from which he takes advice. He actually just speaks his uneducated mind and thinks he is a king. He doesn't understand our form of government.

If people would just keep their religion out of public - meetings

[ In Reply To ..]
why do I have to hear that nonsense at the beginning of a city council meeting to talk about trash pick up? etc.

Take it to your living room, your church, your clubhouse, et cetera. MEMBERSHIP is what is necessary to inflict your religious views on others.

Worst Of US Recession OverOct 12, 2009
The worst U.S. recession since the Great Depression has ended, but weak household spending as the labor market struggles to create jobs will slow the pace of the economy's recovery, according to a survey released on Monday. The survey of 44 professional forecasters released by the National Association of Business Economists (NABE) found that 80 percent of the respondents believed the economy was growing again after four straight quarters of declines. "The great recession is over," said NA ...

Worst Haircut Ever!!Feb 05, 2011
I had an appointment to get my hair cut yesterday.  When I got there, they told me that my stylist was in the hospital and they had tried to call me but no one ever answered the phone.  I told her that my answering machine would have picked up but she said it never did.  They said that someone else could do it and I came so close to saying I wanted to reschedule but I was there, had not washed my hair that morning and my bangs were hanging in my eyes.  They told me that this ...

Worst Gift Ever?Dec 06, 2010
I got this from another board and it was actually funny to read. When we got married 18 years ago we got a plunger from my mom's friend thou she did get us another gift also that one was just funny. We got margaritia glasses and neither us were old enough to drink either. I used those for dessert glasses for a bit but ended up over time breaking them. I can't think of any really really bad gifts but those 2 stick out in my mind for some reason. So what has been yours? ...

Which Republican Governor Is The Worst?Aug 26, 2014
I nominate Scott Walker from Wisconsin. Recent breaking news -- Scott Walker's administration agreed to give a $6 million tax break to a corporation that may lay off nearly 2,000 Wisconsin workers. And less than a month later, the owners of that corporation gave Walker's campaign $20,000. But then there is Bob McDonnell from Virginia, Christie from New Jersey, Perry from Texas, Palin from Alaska. Yes, I realize some of these are not current governors, but it is hard to keep up. ...

Who Had The Worst Week In Washington? Sarah Palin.Jan 18, 2011
In moments of crisis, great politicians rise to the occasion. Bad ones tend to fall flat.  Sarah Palin learned that the hard way this past week, when a statement she released hoping to quell the controversy that surrounded her after the attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) only helped create a new and even larger controversy. At issue was a map that Palin's political team published during the 2010 campaign. It had cross hairs on 20 Democratic districts - inc ...

I Just Watched The Worst Movie In My Entire LifeJan 06, 2010
I am so mad that I actually bought this movie because I heard so many people say how scary it it.  It was not scary at all...not one iota.  The movie is called "Paranormal Activity".  After watching it I got online and see it has won the Rotten Tomato award as did the actress and actor in it (if you could call them that).  It was slow, boring, and the acting was horrible.  Not the reactions one would expect if you have a demon in the house.  Her screaming was so hid ...

Who Are You Picks For Best And Worst 3 Presidents In The 20-21st CenturyNov 17, 2014

Obama Will Leave His Party In Its Worst Shape Since TheAug 21, 2015
As historians begin to assess Obama’s record as president, there’s at least one legacy he’ll leave that will indeed be historic—but not in the way he would have hoped. Even as Democrats look favorably ahead to the presidential landscape of 2016, the strength in the Electoral College belies huge losses across much of the country. In fact, no president in modern times has presided over so disastrous a stretch for his party, at almost every level of politics. Legacies are often tough to ...
