New Rules

Posted: Feb 5, 2017

So now that we have President Trump, we must all start being respectful and not call names, etc, etc.  Where were all these rules during Obama's presidency?

that we should look at it as better late than never. It really was getting so over-the-top on here the last couple of months. I know everyone is very passionate in their beliefs, but I think it is better we try to discuss and try to understand the other person's viewpoint rather than just shut down and throw mud because we don't agree with it. The worst thing for this country is it becoming even more divided than it already is.

If you had said this even 6 months ago, I might have agreed with you. Now -- I just don't know.

Not new rules...these are rules of the board that nobody followed - It was getting very nasty here - sm

I'm glad there are some rules. Nobody should be forced to read what we are being called or ridiculed, etc. Seems like the only ones unhappy will be the ones who like to insult and ridicule.

BTW - lots of messages against Obama were deleted.

The timing is suspicious.

Republicans only honor and support rules that benefit them...this is an age-old tenet.

Timing of what? - please explain

[ In Reply To ..]
The timing of what? I agree with the other poster. Conservatives generally follow the rules. It is the liberals who seem to be upset about this.

Still though, timing of what?

The timing of enforcement of rules of this forum that already exist. It looks like the moderator has had enough and so is going to be strictly enforcing the rules of decorum that have always been here. I agree with this decision. As to the comment that it is the liberals who seem to be upset about this, I haven't seen any evidence of that here. Can you cite a post or posts that demonstrate this?

New NLRB RulesJan 26, 2012
I'm curious as to why the NLRB would want the emails and phone numbers of employees before a union vote.  Isn't that protected personal information that businesses would not be able to give, like an address or Social Security number? http://www.nhregister.com/articles/2012/01/25/news/doc4f20db50d7540761245094.txt ...

Rules For RadicalsOct 12, 2013
Can you not see how they abuse their power yet? This is what I am sure they keep in their desks. Here is the complete list from Alinsky. * RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood. (These are two things of which there is a plentiful supply. Government and corporations always have a difficult time appealing to people, and usually do so almo ...

Teenagers Rules With CompanyNov 11, 2011
I am curious to what some rules are for your teenagers in regards to having company over mostly of the opposite sex.  I have a 14-yof and a 15-yof who will be 16 in January.  Both of them are good Christian girls (I assume), pledge virginity, and wear purity rings.  They have recently gotten boyfriends so the high school and older boys is new to us.  In addition, we lived in the country and just moved in town so now it seems to be a constant issue with company from neighborho ...

Judge Rules Out Health Care LawDec 13, 2010
This is good news.  Now if politicians could just make health care affordable for all.  I'd love the same rates as someone in Idaho or other states have.  Make health insurance competitive, they have to accept pre-existing conditions and nobody could ever be refused health care and I think that would be a great way for a new year.  But forcing people to buy a product they don't want is just not right and I'm glad this judge saw how unconstitutional it is. &nbs ...

I have to admit, the judge's reasoning makes sense: "Forced shaving is not a novel concept in the military,’’ military attorneys said in the judge’s response filed with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. ‘‘Army regulations expressly authorize nonconsensual haircutting and face-shaving for recalcitrant incarcerated soldiers. … If the judge has authority to bind and gag a disruptive accused (soldier), then certainly he has authority to forcibly shave (Hasan).’’ ...

Democrats Won't Be Able To Block Trump Appointments Due To RulesNov 19, 2016
Senate Democrats are not going to be able to block Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions bid to become attorney general. And they can’t do much to stop Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo from assuming the helm of the CIA. And they have only themselves to thank for it. That’s because exactly three years ago, the Democratic Senate majority — led by Harry Reid (Nev.) — rammed through controversial rules fundamentally changing the way the Senate does business. They unleashed in November 2013 what’s call ...
