I'm Cancelling my Netflix Account

Posted: Jan 29, 2017

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings tweeted an anti-American, anti-Trump message in support of criminal illegal alien "dreamers."  It is inappropriate for a CEO of a consumer service to make such a political statement.
I am cancelling my Netflix account (don't ever watch it anyway) and encourage my fellow Trump supporters to do the same (and spread this far and wide!).
The Tweet that will cost this company a LOT of customers:

Trump's actions are hurting Netflix employees around the world, and are so un-American it pains us all. Worse, these actions will make America less safe (through hatred and loss of allies) rather than more safe. A very sad week, and more to come with the lives of over 600,000 Dreamers here in a America under imminent threat. It is time to link arms together to protect American values of freedom and opportunity.

Thanks for letting me know. I just canceled mine. I have - Amazon Prime which is better anyway.

Is Netflix is admitting hiring vast numbers of illegal aliens?

Probably, their customer base is probably a lot of illegals from Californicator land to the East Ccoast.

Netflix has become a cesspool of entertainment anyway. - Nothing new on there that I

care to watch, and it’s become more difficult to navigate through selections.

I canceled it when my account was hacked and they got my CC#. Had to get a new card.

If we were a country that had no poverty, I wouldn't mind helping - refugees out. But they are not being

vetted. We can’t even take care of our military veterans for Pete’s sake. Who says we should take on the problems of the world when we can’t pay for our own?

"Will make America less safe (through hatred and loss of allies)..."

The answer of all cowards. “Don't bug them and they’ll leave us alone.”

It's like keeping your front door unlocked otherwise the murders will think you are unfriendly!

Makes me sick.

Netflix is trying to expand most internationally now. - Just canceled my membership.

I had no idea about this tweet until I read it here but as a result I have RENEWED my subscription and added DVDs as well! 5 of my 6 family members are doing the same for the same reason. Thus, is does NOT ALWAYS kill business. Those of us with half a brain and a whole heart fully support business interests such as this!

Lyft too, since Uber CEO is a - real Trump fan

[ In Reply To ..]
To be honest, I live in a place where there is no Uber or Lyft, or need for them, but apparently from what I can gather Uber has taken a lot of business from the yellow cab drivers, who are unionized and tend to be from all over the world.

Lyft will donate $1 million to the ACLU to fight Trump travel ban. Yay!

I doubt many of these paid protesters even use Uber or Lyft. - They get bused to just about eveywhere

[ In Reply To ..]
they’re "employed’’.

Working folks with REAL jobs do use Uber.

I find all this to be hysterical but if I were trying to get a sick person home as I was doing four years ago through JFK, I would be very upset with these idiots. Most people who travel just want to get to the terminal, through the terminal and onto the plane. Any delay is resented. I’m sure that the Taxi strike is costing those drivers a lot. They are living on a very minimal level. A day or two of this and they start going down hill fast. The one percenters who are sponsoring this are so evil.

Good, hope the million bankrupts them! - NM

How much does Netflix CEO make?

Harry Reid got PWND over this. - LONGList

[ In Reply To ..]
Harry Reid publicly lied (video at bottom link), stating that there weren't many billionaire backers on the Dem side. Politifact (link below excerpt) busted this wide open.

"That makes our job harder -- how many of America’s 492 billionaires do you need to have the backing of "many" billionaires? And do Democrats have fewer than Republicans?

We can’t answer the question of which side has more because it’s impossible to know exactly who donates to elections and how much they give. Certain types of political nonprofits are not required to disclose all their funders, although some do so voluntarily.

For example, despite being Reid’s biggest rhetorical targets, brothers David and Charles Koch do not appear as donors on any of the campaign finance information we reviewed. The two businessmen co-founded Americans for Prosperity, an influential conservative super PAC.

But by looking at some publicly available information -- mostly from the Center for Responsive Politics’ Open Secrets database, which collects disclosure data from the Federal Election Commission -- we were able to get an idea of what role America’s billionaires play in each party.

We cross-checked the Open Secrets list of the top 100 individuals donating to outside spending groups in the current election against the Forbes list of the world’s billionaires and found that, as of June 19, there were 22 individuals on the Open Secrets list who were billionaires. Of those 22 billionaires, 13 -- or more than half -- gave predominantly to liberal groups or groups affiliated with the Democratic Party. The other nine gave predominantly to conservative groups. (A list of billionaires and how much they donated can be found here.)

My off-the-cuff list:
Bill Gates
Warren Buffet
George Soros
The entire ROTHSCHILD family
Michael Bloomberg
Steven Spielberg

ALL are GLOBALISTS who support GLOBALIST CAUSES, including DEPOPULATION (that's where abortion comes in).

Netflix CEO comment - Anon MT

It's called freedom of speech, for anyone at any time they so choose, no matter what party or affiliation you have.

That's why you have the freedom to say what you do here in this forum and anywhere else you choose. Can't really do that in a lot of other countries. Just saying.....

Nextflix CEO comment - Anon MT - MT1347

Yes, it is freedom of speech but every right has a flip side of responsibility. That is something too many people ignore these days - the responsibility aspect. Exercising any right brings consequences and you have to accept that. Any CEO who speaks out against a political officeholder in social media is being inappropriate in my opinion. As a CEO he should use the appropriate channels to bring his concern directly to Trump about the affect this policy will have on his company. He made it personal and took it to Twitter for heaven's sake - who can take a "business man" like that seriously?

Marketing 101. Don't alienate half your customer - base. He has a right, but he

has to accept the consequences.

since I rarely visit the politics board now understand why a lot of the posts in general on this site are hateful. Hate, hate, hate. Enjoy the hate, because when it's your turn to be locked out in the cold for whatever reason (being a woman for instance) you will remember you originally agreed with the hate. We are taught to love our neighbor and help them. Forgive me for being Judeo-Christian here but Abraham entertained strangers who were angels and was blessed. Jesus was an outcast and I remind you would be hated today because He was of mideast origin, AND he did tell the parable of the Good Samaritan. He healed the outcasts and disliked hypocrisy. Now I can't wait to see all the dislikes and hate come my way. Enjoy yourselves. But I'll tell you one thing and I promise you this, GOOD wins in the end. Not hate, not discrimination, not bigotry, not greed. Love for the outcast wins. See-ya. I'm going to go watch Netflix now and get a ride from Lyft.

How many refugees are you volunteering to take into your home?

YOU can feed, clothe, and house them; provide their medical care; give them an education. YOU are free to do that in accordance with YOUR beliefs/ideology. MY tax dollars should NOT go toward it.

BTW, I don't "hate" anyone. But we CANNOT afford to take care of the entire world. Not only is that a paternalistic/racist attitude, it isn't even pragmatic.

Starbucks announces plans to hire 10,000 refugees. - Another one to boycot.

Personally I think they are overrated and overpriced.

I can buy a bag of 8 O’clock coffee beans for the cost of a cup of Starburned coffee. Their coffee is bitter.

The same company that had to be shamed into opening a store in a majority black city, Ferguson, MO, will now hire thousands of “refugees.” Americans, including black Americans, are watching all of this.

Why not hire American citizens and pay them $15 an hour? - I mean really.

Thanks. I'm boycotting them too, although I had already cut out going there down to almost never.

My guess is that they can/will hire the "refugees" (honestly I have seen some VERY clean, well dressed "refugees" with the women wearing makeup, the men with neat haircuts and no facial hair, and everyone in what appear to be brand spanking-new tennis shoes so I DO have my doubts) at minimum wage. Why? Because they CAN.

Has Anyone Here Permanently Deleted Their FB Account?Jan 07, 2015
I'm thinking of deleting my account.  This isn't due to any kind of drama or anything like that.  I only use my facebook to communicate with family and a few friends in other states and to share pictures and updates about our kids and family.  I'm sure part of me will miss that, but I am considering deleting it.  I often go to it expecting to spend 10 minutes at most, and an hour goes by.  Any advice?  Thanks in advance! :) ...
