It's going to be a great

Posted: Jan 20, 2017

Let us stand together as our new President is sworn in, as Americans.  After all, we do have that in common.  Let's pray for our new President, let's welcome him, and let's MAGA!

;

The day will be made even better by the absence of - low-life ill-mannered Dem boycotters!

When I think of some of the sour mugs that I won't have to endure today, I rejoice. They won't be there to mar the celebration - and many will be gone permanently in the next election cycle, God willing.

I misbehaved this way once (and only once) as a child. - I never forgot the look of disappointment...

...in my dad's eyes as he said "Straighten up, and act like you've been somewhere."

I was 11 and I had refused to congratulate the winner who beat me in the last round of the city-wide spelling bee.

There are sore - losers

[ In Reply To ..]
and then there are sore winners. I have seen this bored filled with sore winners. After the election, they have done nothing but bash the Obama's, the Clinton's and the left. There have been constant personal attacks on both. The post I am responding to is yet another name-calling post. The day is here for the right. We live in a free country and if these people chose not to attend, that is their business. You might not agree with their views but they have the right to them. I would think there are better things to do on this day for the right than bashing the left.

Oh but the BLM and other protesters have resorted to violence - imagine that

[ In Reply To ..]
Bad enough they vandalize and torch they own towns and businesses, but they bring that logic to Washington DC. There are better ways to get their message across than always resorting to violence.

Darkest day in the history of the USA - Not My President

[ In Reply To ..]
We now have the most disgusting human being who has ever held the office as POTUS.

Oh honey, he IS your president lol - American Citizen

I'm so happy! I had to put up with Obama for 8 freakin years! I didn't like him then and I sure don't like him now, but I didn't act like a 3-year-old, whining and saying "He not my president." I stood up and took it as an adult and tolerated the last 8 years. What good does it do to proclaim he isn't your president when you live in the USA, and well, that means you have to deal with it. My parents were democrats (mature democrats), and as I got older I started using my own brain to make my own decision of what party I wanted to belong to. I actually see myself as an independent, not one or the other. I am just floored at how childish and slanderous the democrats have been and still are. Ridiculous.

you know pubs are just as childish and would have been if Hillary was voted in - #MWAP

[ In Reply To ..]
as proven by the many posts still whining about her and obama I see on this board. So one side is not more mature or better than the other. I cant wait to see what the future holds and see how this country fairs or flops with DT at the helm...you know the guy who claims he is going to do all this stuff but has no plans. Its a free country...well for a while anyway.. so if somebody chooses to say "he is not my president" that is their perogative. I like to call him "man without a plan" saw that on a different post and it was BRILLANT!!

He is THE president - Not MY president

[ In Reply To ..]
I know that, of course, but when I say he is not my president I obviously mean in spirit. His behavior and rhetoric have been reprehensible and totally inconsistent with the leader of the free world.

I am just - floored

[ In Reply To ..]
at how childish and slanderous Trump has been through this whole process. I hope he is getting a wake up call. That is all we can hope for. I really don't think he believed he would be elected. I hope it is a very humbling experience for him and he really does do what is best for the country. I as a Hillary supporter can only hope that a 70-year-old who has spent his life conning and insulting people can find the office of the presidency a real honor and put the country first. Time will tell.

Dead wrong - According to the majority of the people of the country - He is an honorable man - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
The most disgusting human being award goes to none other than Obobo.

A man who will help ALL Americans have hope for their future, jobs, better health care costs, safety, etc, etc, etc.

On top of that he has the experience needed.

He is a man who will end the tyranny we have been under for the past 8 years.

Thank you God.

BTW, if you live in America, YES he IS your president.

You are dead wrong.... - jmt

[ In Reply To ..]
The majority of people did NOT vote for him nor do they think he's an honorable man. You can thank the electoral college, not the majority of America. He's an infant, a social media bully and in bed with the Russians. And what is the experience he has? A business man who did not turn over his tax returns so we could how he's cheated the country he's now in charge of? Give me a break. He is disgusting, despicable and I as a self-respecting woman will never support him. Unfortunately I'm stuck with this for 4 years unless God willing he's impeached for one of many things. Trump University...yeah settled, you know how he said he would NEVER settle. You talk about immature...Obobo? Really? Donald Trump and mature are two words that will never be in one sentence together. I agree with another poster, darkest day I can remember let alone embarrassing. You can thank God all you want, I am asking the Lord to help us.
LOL - got through the first few words. Didn't even finish the sentence - The majority of the country voted for him
[ In Reply To ..]
That is how he won. Then the electoral college voted for him, because that is the way their states voted.

So you don't want to believe the truth, not our loss. The maps, voting records, etc tell the truth. As Jack Nicholson says..."you can't handle the truth".
Hahaha ok - jmt
[ In Reply To ..]
Are you talking about the polls this clown predicted would be rigged because he thought he would lose? But then they were obviously NOT rigged because he won? Those polls? Haha he did not win the popular vote. The truth is he got the demographics he went after to vote for him. It's concerning to me so many bought into his garbage, but now we all have to suffer. Thank you for commenting on anything important, like his Russian ties, not revealing his tax returns like every other Pres does and how he plans on defeating ISIS and bringing jobs back that are long gone other than "it's gonna be GREAT". Your post mirrors Donald..."we won, I'm the bestest, you lost, get over it" with no real substance whatsoever. Typical.

Snowflake rhetoric. Not going to let you diminish the pride I am feeling in my country and the hopefulness I have. Please take your darkness and snotty comments to the hot chocolate and pony room for a timeout.
Hahaha so sad - jmt
[ In Reply To ..]
Imagine that, a Trumpesque response, shocking. You can have your moment and enjoy. I realize no intelligent conversation will be had about this, but then again...I should know better by now not to expect that.
Just - so you know
[ In Reply To ..]
Had I wanted to say, "We won, I'm the bestest, you lost, get over it," (by the way, bestest isn't a word and reflects more on your finger-wagging than it does me) I would have said that. Nothing wrong with having a sense of pride in my country and stating so. If you don't feel the same way, feel free to move on to a topic that you can relate to. That's the beauty of being an American. Spin this post however you will, as I'm sure you will.
Oh I didn't know - jmz
[ In Reply To ..]
bestest wasn't a word. I'll make sure I write that down. No way to spin it, it is what it is. You can have your pride and good for you. I am ashamed and disgusted, I can state that as well, and that's where I shall leave it.

Our favorite hot sauce may now become either no longer available, or will be made in another country, because some people in the state it's made are "sensitive" to the smell. Okay, there goes another American job/factory and more people laid off because of someone's "sensitivity." If it is made out of the country, the price will go waaay up, not to mention, if it's made in China, goodness knows what they'll put in it. It's Sriracha---we love it. We grow our own hab ...

Saw Shrek 4 In 3-D It Was GreatJun 07, 2010
Summer is coming and we live in Florida where it is hot and rainy.  My son was bored and I was too... so we found a movie theater locally which did not cost an arm and a leg.  I took him to see Shrek 3-D and it was GREAT! Highly recommended.  I can see how some people might get a little nauseous with the 3-D because sometimes it is hard to take especially with buttered popcorn in the stomach! But it really was great in 3-D.  It really reminded me of the old "Disney."  As ...

Great Start To The DayApr 17, 2012
So, I run into this guy this morning who I haven't seen in about nine years. We're talking and then he says - You're bigger than the last time I saw you. Today Is Going To Be A Great DayOct 08, 2012
I'm just about over being sick.  I don't have to work today.  The whole day stretches before me in pure luxurious possibility.  Yes, I have to do more "job hunting," no the job hunt really isn't going that well.  But today, I'm gonna set that aside. I'm reading Longfellow (poet), I really like it, it's easy to read - poetry that's easy to read, what a concept!  I'm also working on a poem and my novel. It's like 24 hours' ...

Today's Another Great DayOct 11, 2012
Got the car fixed - several things wrong with it - so hopefully fingers crossed it will make it through the winter.  The whole winter.  And there's another car here, so if worse came to worst, I could take that. Moral of the story - a big stress is when "worse comes to worst" is on the horizon, and you have to live with that possibility day in and day out.  So one aspect of that is gone. Bought a nice velveteen-ish jacket at Salvation Army - eight dollars - it is pitiful wh ...

A Great RecipeJan 01, 2013
A woman I met some weeks ago gave me a recipe for crustless pumpkin pie.  I went on line and found one which varied somewhat from hers.  (She uses egg beaters and Splenda in her recipe because her husband is diabetic, etc.)   The recipe I used was perfect!   If anyone would like to try it (maybe for next season) I will gladly share it.  It is great not having to worry about making a perfect crust, which is not my strong point.   I never heard of a cru ...

Some good common sense and an irate reaction to Trump here, so probably this might be only for those of us who do not like Donald Trump - definitely a liberal cast to this blog, but what the heck I have to skim through those diatribes from the Heritage Foundation and that awful Judge Jeanine, so about time to spread a bit of progressive wealth of knowledge. America Is Great BecauseAug 03, 2016
If you watch this video of a Muslim-American (comedian) saying goodbye to America at the RNC (because of Trump's purported measures to ban Muslims and make a Muslim registry) you will see that the people he meets there are so nice and loving. I am just amazed that they go for Trump, who is certainly not a good person at all. I just think this video represents the repeated claim that there are not as many differences in people as there are similarities, that Americans on the whole ARE good ...
