The Angry Man

Posted: Jan 5, 2017

The Angry Man For all the interest group pandering that shapes modern American politics, the group that may well have decided the election has come down to the demographic of “The Angry Man.” The Angry Man is difficult to stereotype. He comes from all economic backgrounds, from dirt-poor to filthy rich. He represents all geographic areas in America , from sophisticated urbanite to rural redneck, Deep South to Yankee North, Left Coast to Eastern Seaboard. No matter where he’s from, Angry Men share many common traits; they aren’t asking for anything from anyone other than the promise to be able to make their own way on a level playing field. In many cases, they are independent businessmen and employ several people. They pay more than their share of taxes and they work hard. Damn hard, for what they have and intend to keep. He’s used to picking up the tab, whether it’s the Christmas party for the employees at his company, three sets of braces, college educations or a beautiful wedding or two. Not because he was forced to, but because it’s the right thing to do. The Angry Man believes the Constitution should be interpreted as it was written. It is not as a “living document” open to the whims and vagaries of appointed judges and political winds. The Angry Man owns firearms, and he’s willing to pick up a gun and use it in defense of his home, his country and his family. He is willing to lay down his life to defend the freedom and safety of others, and the thought of killing someone if necessary to achieve those goals gives him only momentary pause. The Angry Man is not, and never will be, a victim. Nobody like him drowned in Hurricane Katrina. He got his people together and got the hell out. Then, he went back in to rescue those who needed help or were too stupid to help themselves in the first place. He was selfless in this, just as often a civilian as a police officer, a National Guard soldier or a volunteer firefighter. Victimhood syndrome buzzwords; “disenfranchised,” “marginalized” and “voiceless” don’t resonate with The Angry Man. “Press ‘one’ for English” is a curse-word to him. His last name, his race and his religion don’t matter. His ancestry might be Italian, English, African, Polish, German, Slavic, Irish, Russian, Hispanic or any of a hundred others. What does matter is that he considers himself in every way to be an American. He is proud of this country and thinks that if you aren’t, you are whole-heartedly encouraged to find one that suits you and move there. The Angry Man is usually a man’s man. The kind of guy who likes to play poker, watch football, go hunting, play golf, maintain his own vehicles and build things. He coaches kid’s baseball, soccer and football and doesn’t ask for a penny. He’s the kind of guy who can put an addition on his house with a couple of friends, drill an oil well, design a factory or work the land. He can fill a train with 100,000 tons of coal and get it to the power plant so that you can keep the lights on while never knowing everything it took to do that. The Angry Man is the backbone of this country. He’s not racist, but is truly disappointed and annoyed, when people exhibit behavior that typifies the worst stereotypes of their ethnicity. He’s willing to give everybody a fair chance if they’re willing to work hard and play by the rules. He expects other people to do the same. Above all, he has integrity in everything he does. The Angry Man votes, and he loathes the dysfunction now rampant in government. It’s the victim groups being pandered to and the “poor me” attitude that they represent. The inability of politicians to give a straight answer to an honest question. The tax dollars that are given to people who simply don’t want to do anything for themselves. The fact that, because of very real consequences, he must stay within a budget but for some obscure reason the government he finances doesn’t. Mostly, it’s the blatantly arrogant attitude displayed implying that we are too stupid to run our own lives and only people in government are smart enough to do that. The Angry Man has reached his limit. When a social justice agitator goes on TV, leading some rally for Black Lives Matter, safe spaces or other such nonsense, he may bite his tongue but, he remembers. When a child gets charged with carrying a concealed weapon for mistakenly bringing a penknife to school, he takes note of who the local idiots are in education and law enforcement. But when government officials are repeatedly caught red-handed breaking the law and getting off scot-free, The Angry Man balls-up his fists and readies himself for the coming fight. He knows that this fight, will be a live or die situation, so he prepares fully. Make no mistake, this is a fight in which he is not willing to lose and he will never give up. Obama calls him a Clinger Hillary Calls him Deplorable Bill calls him Redneck BLM calls him a Racist Feminists calls him Sexist ISIS calls him an Infidel Donald Trump calls him an American ;

The Angry Woman - Not My President

I'm a progressive who has never had to own a gun and proud that I have never had to kill anyone. I'm angry that a man like Donald Trump - ignorant, narcissistic, crude, vulgar, egomaniacal, xenophobic, misogynistic, serial liar who has taken advantage of the little guy his entire life has risen to the office of POTUS. I view his election as an American tragedy.

An American Tragedy - sm

would have been if a serial liar became president.

Some of the moderators have been fair but some seem to be harder on liberals than conservatives. We have to be very careful not to single out anyone - use words like "people" rather than "you." I have had some luck with one of the moderators (don't know how many there are) after some dialogue.
One gets banned here for thneir own posts, not because of "ring leaning" - predominance. I have been banned.

When I first came here a couple years ago, conservatives were in the minority. On my very first post, a conservative reached out to me and thanked me for my opinion and told me I would have to be strong because we were outnumbered. She/he told me to wear my "dislikes" like a badge of honor. I will never forget those words.
When I came here a few years ago, it was just the opposite. I - felt like as a conservative I was in the

minority. I don't read too many rational opinions now from the left, just harsh rhetoric. I can't even say someone reached out to me and thanked me for my opinion. All I get is rehashed MSM regurgitation. Be glad a conservative had the kindness to at least do that here.

All you have to do is look at how Pence was treated in the NY City. How does one have a rational discussion with that kind of mentality.

Funny, that's how I felt 8 years ago, but I dealt with it and - survived.

I can understand - Not My President

[ In Reply To ..]
differences of opinion regarding politics. I was unhappy with George Bush for 8 years and I survived. You survived because even though you don't like him, Barack Obama is a responsible adult. Now we have a petulant child who is impulsive and vindictive, who tweets about nuclear weapons. Many of us are truly frightened by the prospect of him having the nuclear codes. As someone said, I hope he doesn't have to prove his manhood by starting a nuclear war. I hope we all survive his presidency.
People should give him a chance - and stop

That he can go bankrupt 4 times, that he can hide his tax returns from the public, that he can cheat the little guy, that he can give cushy jobs to his biggest contributors, that he can incite violence? Not my president.

I once had a leftist here call The Federalist Papers - a right wing rag! I took that

as a cue.

So when are you leaving the country? - just saying

[ In Reply To ..]
If you truly consider Trump not your President then you must be planning to become a citizen of another country. Because as long as you live on American soil and have American citizenship Trump is your President, no matter how many times you say he is not.

Republicans were angry 8 years ago when a first term senator who had only been a community organizer won the election with the media looking the other way. The Tea Party movement caught hold and slowly but surely the Republicans gained control back of the Congress and now the Presidency. We never once said Obama was not our President. Better get used to saying President Trump or move.

Pardon me - Not My President

[ In Reply To ..]
but how many years did Donald Trump keep saying that Obama was not born in this country? That would have made him nobody's president.

You just described the politicians, not Trump - Mrs. Tingles - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Trump is neither ignorant, xenophobic, misogynistic or a serial liar. Hillary and other politicians are. He has not taken advantage of "the little guy". He IS the one who gives "the little guys (and girls) jobs. In fact he is the only person in politics who is giving us "little guys/girls" a fighting chance of being able to live the American dream. Something the Obama's, Clintons, Pelosi, Reid, Bush's, Romney, etc., etc. and all other politicians have taken away from us while enriching themselves.

President Elect Trump is the only one worthy to hold the office of POTUS and he has now changed "hope" from the dirty word that Obama made it into a reality for us. This election is viewed as a huge success for the average middle income/class. We FINALLY have a voice. Our lives FINALLY matter. The American people view this election as a huge success and victory. Americans view this as a blessing for all people of the country who have struggled under the regime of evil people who say they'll do everything for the American people and do nothing except for themselves and their 1%er friends. Who lie, cheat and steal from us and leave us holding the bag.

President Elect Trump has made it possible for us to get our lives back. To get our jobs back, to get a better health insurance plan, to stop the rising costs of premiums. For so many years the democrats/communists have gotten their talons sunk in and were fundamentally changing anything good into a tragedy for the American people/families.

The real tragedy is the snowflakes who can't handle this. Who are not patriots and would rather watch us suffer as long as democrats/communists rule.

What's even more funny is the communist networks who keep spewing their ignorant hatred for President Elect Trump and they use those same exact words as above (ignorant, narcissistic, crude, etc). And then people pick them up and start flinging them around without even knowing what they mean. You can tell what stations people watch because it's the same exact words in the same exact order. They just keep spewing them over and over and over. Ever notice it's in the same exact order too. They don't even have a thought in their own minds to even switch the words around. Just the same unmeaninful spew over and over and over. They (the communist stations) are kind of funny, but more pathetic than anything.

I thank God every day for His will in having President Elect Trump lead this country and I thank the intelligence of the American people who unanimously voted for the right person for the job.

Looking forward to President Trump doing great things for our country and the people of our country. Even the ones who trash him.

I don't know where you are getting your - OABO

information on Donald Trump but there is plenty of documented history on how he has cheated the little guy. His own remarks make him xenophobic, misogynistic and downright vulgar. His ignorance in things other than real estate deals become more apparent all the time. Nothing has been done about health care yet and neither Donald Trump nor the Republicans have a plan. And as for the 1%, they are rapidly filling Trump's cabinet.

Time to remove the wool from the eyes - LMT

The first paragraph alone in this post is delusional beliefs about Trump. He has lied obvioiusly throughout his life, cheated on all his wives, etc. I could go on and on, but it has all been said before. He is everything a typcial politician is and probably a lot more dangerous too.

It's the most wonderful time in 8 years
Yet some kids are protesting
While Trump fans investing their time with good cheer
Sing "It's the most wonderful time in 8 years"

It's the hap-happiest voting season of all
With each staff member Trump picks, Democrats up to their old tricks …Just trashing them all
but It's the hap- happiest election season of all

There’ll be one party hosting All three branches toasting
but how low now will the press go
They'll spin misguided stories Trying to steal Trump’s glory
from a playbook written, long long ago

It's the most wonderful time in 8 years
They'll be much more enjoyment a lot less unemployment
Cause Trump will be near
It's the most wonderful time in 8 years (go up)

Hillary’s party’s not hosing they’re no longer toasting,
Beyonce, Kanye, Cop Killers, Racists and the Muslim Brotherhood
They ignored true stories of Hillary who wasn’t sorry
for her crimes now and long ago

Now It's the most wonderful time in 8 Years
We’ll deport all the criminals, Taxes will be minimal
Bad trade deals disappear
It's the most wonderful time
yes the most wonderful time
Oh the most wonderful time… in 8 years!

My ex and I divorced YEARS ago.  I've been re-married for 14 years now, have grown children from the first marriage.  The relationship I had with the ex was horrible, he was unfaithful, emotionally abusive, manipulative, on and on, and as a father he was just as bad.  When the divorce was final it was like he was done with me AND our kids, yet every so often he would get drunk or stoned and call letting me know how miserable he was and how he knew he screwed up and still love ...
