Feeling about as low as I can be

Had 2nd interview yesterday for a part-time job. Felt confident after 1st interview. Was tolld after 2nd that they would call me Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. Here iit is early Friday afternoon and NO CALL. I was willing to work overnight hours too. My age works against me. They all want the young ones. I am getting desparate and not afraid ot do any type of job. Behind on all my bills. Looking for a silver lining. Been praying that God will point me in a direction to help me out. More and more demands for my money but no increase in pay. I have had 1 raise in over 20 years. Sure wish that they would see fit to give us a cost of living raise. I am trying to hang on but it is just so difficult. Need to see doctor but have no money for co-pay or the deductible. Who knew.

By the way, I do not look 60. I easily pass for 50. Oh well, their loss. I would have been a good employee.

Don't lose heart. You'll find that part-time job. Have you ever checked out the AARP website? It's for us folks over 50, and they post some jobs and give good advice.

On seeing the doctor, do you have access to Teledoc with your insurance or NurseLine? Supposedly those services are free for company employees - you just call and talk to a doctor who can prescribe meds if you need that, or talk to a nurse who can maybe help until you see your doctor. I wish there were still free clinics around, but seems those are nearly nonexistent anymore.

It seems we're all taking a hit in our finances these days - so much uncertainty and costs going up all over the place.

I pray that God will bless you with an amazing job that when you get it you're going to know it was from Him...

They can probably get you some work ASAP while you wait to find something permanent. This way you can have some money coming in. They usually don't care about your age at all. In fact, they often prefer an older person because of her experience and work ethic.

I average only 14 gallons of gas per month. At $3.70 a gallon, that is over $51 a month. I walk my child to school. I combine trips. Every once in awhile I go on Ebay and just search for "medical transcription" items. I've found good buys in the past on various items (electronic spellcheckers, foot pedals, headphones, etc). I just found out my 2nd cat in 10 years likely has a cryptococcal fungal infection. The 1st one I did the whole treatment, surgery, biopsy, blood titers, fluconazole (150 bucks a month for a year), cost me over $2000. My husband had terrible lower back pain and went to the doctor last week and was told he most likely had sciatica.
