Obama says he's "not responsible" for skyrocketing costs

Posted: Oct 21, 2016

Easy question for you liberals: What do you think he'd be saying if the costs were lower under Obamacare (as they were supposed to be)? That's right. He'd be doing a victory lap and taking FULL credit. What a scumbag.;

We knew he would blame the insurance companies, but - when you have more people taking out

[ In Reply To ..]
than paying in, it's simple math. Of course, that was the plan all along, bankrupt the insurance companies in favor of govt AKA single payer.

My 30 YO healthy daughter is paying $500 a month! That is just ridiculous.

When insurance co. could refuse to serve sick people - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
In the good old days, insurance costs were a lot cheaper and insurance executives could just roll in the dough. Of course sick people not getting health care was beside the point.

In the good ole days, insurance was just major medical and not - doctor's offices. People actually PAID CASH.

[ In Reply To ..]
Then you wouldn't have all these "rich" insurance executives. Most of them went along with Obamacare anyway.

This was always meant to fail and blame the insurance companies. Jonathan Gruber even said as much.

Then the insurance companies got wise.

As their cost goes up, the rest of us who eat right, don't smoke - and live healthy lifestyles and had

low premiums are paying the price.

One needs to look at things objectively and not from one's own perspective.

If we are going to free America from the stranglehold - which our healthcare system has
[ In Reply To ..]
become, then we need to free up providers from a massive, amount of government control and interference.

That control and interference is a very big reason our healthcare is so darned expensive, and the simple fact that our healthcare is completely noncompetitive. Nobody can compete. So it has become prohibitively expensive.

If we do not have competition, then the price will just keep going up. One way or the other.

I've been reading about concierge medicine as an alternative to insurance.

Could have been taking care of by Medicaid or allowing people to shop - across States. This is about control

[ In Reply To ..]
and expanding centralized government.

I for one do not want the government telling me what I can and can't do as far as healthcare. Funny how women say that about abortion, but not health in general.

Obama slashed the FSA on health accounts hurting a lot - of families. I still seethe with

[ In Reply To ..]
anger over this (and taxing medical devices).

Those on the receiving supplement side don't care. Only those - of us paying for it care. Once

[ In Reply To ..]
you have 50% receiving rather than paying, it's over.

Dontcha love how Obama calls single payer - "public option" as if there

[ In Reply To ..]
was competition?

Congrats, insurance industry.

You are now Charlie Brown, and he has the football.

Hope it was worth it.

The true intent of the left's next frontier is to - wreck our healthcare system,

[ In Reply To ..]
with the Cloward-Piven instrument known as Obamacare. It is now clear, overload and wreck our healthcare system so something new can be replace it.

Remember Jonathan Gruber...Lack of political transparency is a HUGE political advantage. The STUPIDITY of the America voter is really critical to getting Obamacare to pass...

Is he whining? His law revamped the entire industry and more - warnings about its problems have

[ In Reply To ..]
come true than the great promises made about it in order to get it passed.

That's one reason they kept delaying the employer mandate. They knew that this day was coming and they were just hoping they would be out of office by then.

A growing number of people in Obamacare are finding - out their health insurance plans

will disappear from the program next year, forcing them to find new coverage even as options shrink and prices rise.

At least 1.4 million people in 32 states will lose the Obamacare plan they have now, according to state officials contacted by Bloomberg. That’s largely caused by Aetna Inc., UnitedHealth Group Inc. and some state or regional insurers quitting the law’s markets for individual coverage.

Sign-ups for Obamacare coverage begin next month. Fallout from the quitting insurers has emerged as the latest threat to the law, which is also a major focal point in the U.S. presidential election. While it’s not clear what all the consequences of the departing insurers will be, interviews with regulators and insurance customers suggest that plans will be fewer and more expensive, and may not include the same doctors and hospitals.

It may also mean that instead of growing in 2017, Obamacare could shrink. As of March 31, the law covered 11.1 million people; an Oct. 13 S&P Global Ratings report predicted that enrollment next year will range from an 8 percent decline to a 4 percent gain.

ABC News.

ABC is reporting this! I'm shocked, not about the result but that it's ABC!

Rising costs - Just another slave

Because costs under his rotten scheme have risen so high, I am now unable to afford premiums even with a state subsidy, so I am now uninsured. Good luck trying to get the penalty from me at tax time, because I can guarantee you, I won't have it then either.

Why Obama And Hillary Must Stop Donald Trump At All CostsJul 31, 2015
Someone is getting very nervous. Obama. Valerie Jarrett. Eric Holder. Hillary Clinton. Jon Corzine…to name just a few. And I know why.  I wrote a book entitled, “The Murder of the Middle Class”  about the unholy conspiracy between big government, big business and big media. They all benefit by the billions from this partnership and it’s in all of their interests to protect one another. It’s one for all, and all for one.  It’s a heck of ...

Why Healthcare Costs So Much In America - Apr 23, 2017
Not for those who are too impatient to read anything longer than a paragraph. While our earnings are being ground into dust, the HC providers we ultimately work for are marking up everything they deliver by 300%, 400% and more, making outsize profits and paying obscene salaries to executives.  Example:  A patient charged $1.50 for a generic Tylenol pill when you can buy a bottle of 200 for $4.00 from Walmart (2 cents a pill).  https://www.walmart.com/ip/39661523 ...that's ...

Big Jump Seen In Health Costs For Employees Oct 14, 2009
As companies begin unveiling their workplace benefits for next year, many employees are learning they will have to dig even deeper into their pockets for health coverage. Such price increases have become a fact of life during open-enrollment season, when workers sign up for their health plans. But the jump is expected to be steeper in 2010 than this year, as employers struggle with the impact of the recession and continually rising insurance costs. Employees will pay $4,023 on average in premiu ...

My Health Insurance Costs More Than My Tax BillApr 14, 2011
I added up my federal, state, and property taxes.  If I was paying the full cost of my health insurance (employer shares cost), my taxes would be about $3,000 LESS than the cost of my health insurance.  I get a of a lot more for my tax dollars than I do from my health iinsurance.   But, I am so glad I am paying all that so the insurance CEOs can afford gas, car payments, and nice vacations.  ...

What started as hot air has now become a thunder cloud. Should Congress fail to reach a compromise to raise the debt ceiling, a multitude of economic sectors could take a hit—if not come to a screeching halt. Eye-opening Information On Hospital Costs.Jul 05, 2012
I watched Dr. Sanjay Gupta's piece on CNN this week where he was explaining why hospital costs were so high.  Of all the bills collected by the hospital from all sources they only end up actually collecting 4%, that's 4 cents for every dollar billed!  To compensate, they bill accordingly so they come out even or ahead, $800 for a disposable chest tube that in reality costs less than $50 from the supplier.  This was really shocking to me!  To be fair, labor need ...

Health Care Costs RiseSep 12, 2012
While annual health care premiums for job-based family plans rose a seemingly respectable 4 percent this year, premiums averaged $15,745, with employees picking up more than $4,300 of that tab, according to an annual employer survey released Sept. 11.  According to an Associated Press report, the costs are a reminder that the U.S.’s struggle with unaffordable medical care is still significant.  Overall, "it's historically a very moderate increase in premiums," said Drew Al ...
