Is there a way to lose belly fat fast

Posted: Oct 20, 2016

Is there a way to lose belly fat fast. I cannot do any exercises for abdominals or sit ups. I have diastolic heart failure and I know I need to lose weight. Thing of it is what do I eat to help lose the fat. I look like I am nine months pregnant. Gosh, I used to be thin.

Your best bet is...SM - Old Anon

for now try a consistent walking program, short distances first, then build up from there. You do use your core and abdominal muscles when you walk. This is a good thing, but strengthening these muscles will not take away the fat overlying them. You have to reduce calories to lose the fat, so you're on the right path, so it seems, with your diet. I only had 15-20 lbs. to lose, and I started doing pool aerobics classes. It took about 3 months, but I did lose belly fat and also fat in other parts (back fat, thigh fat, etc.). A walking or pool program will be good for your heart, muscles, and skeletal systems; and make sure you get proper treatment for your CHF. Good luck.

Yes, proper diet - sm

Two things: First, weight loss is 80% from diet, not exercise. Cut out processed foods, eat a whole foods diet (low in saturated fat and dairy, high in fruits/vegetables/whole grains). Cut out carbonated drinks, drink a lot of water. Get at least 7 hours of sleep per night and find an exercise program that you like. If you don't like it, you will dread it. Walking, yoga, bike-riding, hiking, weight training are all great options. If done properly, weight loss will not be "fast." If it took you 10 years (or more) for the weight to creep up, it's not going to all come off in 3 weeks. You have to be consistent with your diet and exercise and be patient.

Second, you cannot spot reduce for weight loss. If you lose weight, you will lose it from your entire body. Some places you will notice it first, especially if there is not a lot of fat there to begin with. If your belly is your biggest and most stubborn problem area, it's going to feel like it comes off from there last. Use a measuring tape to take your measurements when you start your diet, then take your measurements once a month, because sometimes even if you are not seeing weight loss on the scale, your body is still losing inches.

Same problem - belly

I've always had a belly. Pregnancy, C-section and menopause just made it worse. Part of mine is hereditary. Mom, dad and sisters all have belly fat no matter how thin we are.

Carbs and sugar seem to contribute, my biggest downfall. When I try to lose weight I go Atkins, protein, protein, protein. After about 3 weeks I don't miss carbs/sugar at all and the belly does seem to reduce some.

I agree that walking is the best, not strolling along, but a good marching pace, striding out and you will feel your stomach muscles engaging. Never mind crunches, etc.

Good luck to you!

Atkins - Me too

I've done Atkins twice, and it worked both times; however, I "stalled" because I was eating too much protein. Since I'm starting Atkins again, I purchased a new book on Kindle by the name of What The Fat?; I just wanted to review the principles of Atkins. This book states (and this is also stressed by Atkins), "Put protein in its place: You need protein for life, but once you have more than your body needs, it gets converted into sugars by the liver...many people are overdoing the protein." Low carbs, high fat, and moderate protein are recommended; of course, healthy fats are necessary.

Even though I over-did the protein, the diet was successful for me without cravings. Same as you, I haven't missed carbs at all. When I want to be naughty, I just eat an Atkins treat.

Oh...I also committed to 1-1/2 hours of pretty vigorous exercise per day. Like you say, however, the exercise resulted in NO weight loss whatsoever; in fact, I started gaining because I ate more food. I mean, exercise is great for toning, stamina, lowering blood pressure, etc., but not weight loss. The combination of diet and exercise is the answer, at least for me.

Let me add that I'm especially motivated to succeed because of 3 hypertensive crises in the last year that landed me in the ER. The doctor said something was gonna blow if I didn't take measures to control it.

First things first -- Get a physical checkup - because hard belly fat - sm

can be a symptom of other diseases. I have a sibling who, although she exercised, ate healthy and led a busy lifestyle, also was an alcoholic. She looked like she was pregnant, but it turned out the big belly was a symptom of cirrhosis of the liver.

If you get the go-ahead to start a weight-loss program, there's only one tried-and-true way to do it: You have to amp up the aerobic exercise, and cut calories so that you burn more than you consume.

Did You Have A Big Belly When PregnantFeb 03, 2010
I saw a girl who was 8 months pregnant but just had the tinest little pooch showing. I'll bet it was her first. And, of course, that last month can be a real killer for weight gain. I did that with DS#1, but had a HUGE belly with DS#2. My skin was stretched so tight I felt like if someone poked it with a pin, I'd go flying around the room like a balloon does when you let the air out. ...

Tired Of Belly FatMar 02, 2010
I have done Weight Watchers, South Beach, Sonoma, and just generally starved myself into a rage, but this newfound belly fat is hanging on! I am talking cardio for 45 minutes a day and some weight training too! My newly-toned shoulders sure do enhance my bulging middle, which actually used to indent kinda nicely, I think. I'm gonna be 50 soon. I know my hormones are in a mosh pit, but something's gotta give, right? So here's what's next.....tell me if any ...

My daughter has asked me if she can get her belly button pierced.  I don't think it is a big deal.  I appreciate the fact that she asked me as one of her friends as a piercing "kit" and tried to talk my daughter into letting her do it over the weekend.  So she could have done it without asking me.  I called and made an appointment at a reputable tattoo/body art place who require parental consent, forms signed, ID's, etc.   She decided to mention it to her fath ...

When it comes to food, it turns out you can sue over just about anything these days. A California woman is suing the makers of Jelly Belly jelly beans, claiming she was tricked into believing one of the company's candy products was free of sugar. The plaintiff, Jessica Gomez of San Bernadino County, first brought the case against the candy company earlier this year, blaming "fancy phrasing" for her confusion over the ingredients, according to Legal News Line. Gomez purchased Jell ...

Really Fast Easy RecipeJun 03, 2011
I have a really easy, quick recipe.  It's sort of Sloppy Joes, but my own version.  Brown chopped meat in a skillet.  Add seasoned salt, onion powder, a hint of garlic powder, and black pepper and stir around.  Throw in some chunks of Velveeta cheese and stir until cheese is melted all through.  Serve on bun of your choice.  You can use regular American cheese, but the Velveeta tends to melt easier and clean up in the pan easier. ...

How can a report be neutral if the IG works for the DOJ? They state the reason, but we will just have to wait until others read the 500-page report and report the details. Premiums Still Rising About As Fast Under ObamacareMar 24, 2016
That is, 30% in the 5 years before O-care, 28% in the 5 years after O-care.  But of course, that's not even the whole story.  Those are just the premiums.  When we look at other costs and also at what it all pays for (is the product as good?), the story is much, much worse. Why The Tea Party Will Cause Republicans To LoseApr 19, 2011
It isn't possible to have an actual discussion with a tea party member. They love slogans and one-liners, but that's as far as their 'thinking' goes. They are shallow thinkers. The one thing about this, whether you think it is a good thing or a bad thing, is that they are causing the Republican Party to lose credibility. Decent people have been sucked into it temporarily, but if they are able to think, they eventually have enough of it. The Birther movement is taking the Tea ...
