Here's what I find interesting

Posted: Oct 20, 2016

Funny and suspicious. INTERESTING: I belong to 3 different fairly large forums that are mostly women, none of them political (2 are occupational, one is craft-related). Each one has a board for political discussion. Women from all over the country, across the age, race and religious spectrums. Reading these boards, it's very easy to see that there isn't any particular preference for Clinton among these all of these women. It's about even, I'd say. I think those boards are probably fairly representative, since there's no vested interest in these discussions one way or the other - no one manipulating anything, in other words, or controlling what the members post. SUSPICIOUS: Polls declaring that Clinton has a huge lead among women. If they were true, I'd be seeing it in the public discourse. And, I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing was true about polls that say Trump has a commanding lead with men, either. Yessir, these polls are mighty suspicious.;

We're not as stupid or vajayjay-fixated as she imagines. - We know what she really thinks of us.

[ In Reply To ..]
We know how she treated (and treats) certain women.

We know that she hasn't paid female staff as much as male staff.

We know that she's taken huge sums of money from countries where women are treated like animals.

...and we know that we cannot hand off a Clinton world to our children and grandchildren, staggering under even more debt, and very likely even greater chaos in the world than there is now. (Ladies, if some of you still don't know it, Clinton is FAR more of a war-monger than anyone else running in this election.)

Maybe we are that stupid if we think HC imagines us to be - vajayjay-fixated (vajayjay? really?)

[ In Reply To ..]

More like we're that stupid if we DON'T know that Clinton is counting - on vagina-voters.

[ In Reply To ..]
She's absolutely counting on your V-brain doing the thinking for you.
Well then, I guess she has Trump's vote in the bag. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I'm sorry, but vagina voters? You have less respect for women than Trump.

Lemme guess, these "forums" - all right-leaning?

[ In Reply To ..]
Of course Republican women or tea party or whatever are NEVER voting for Hillary, or at least they would not admit it.

These polls are NOT suspicious. Most women ARE with her. I know older women are not for the most part, for the same reason many think doctors should be males, and they would prefer certain professionals of all stripes to be male. It is a different generation and they feel comforted I guess, or else they just think men are better than women, I don't know.

But there have been many, many polls and yes most women are completely disgusted with Trumpie and would never EVER vote for him.

Uh, did you read what I said? They aren't political sites at all. - As I CLEARLY SAID: Occupations, crafts.

[ In Reply To ..]
Like this one, they just happen to have boards for political topics.

Jeez, the most tiresome thing about this board is re-explaining things.

And like this politics board, it is no doubt - mostly populated with conservatives

[ In Reply To ..]
Politics boards do tend to be bombarded with conservatives and many, many conspiracy theories.

Sorry, but this is the only one I know and it is. How does that happen? They are more motivated? I really don't know, but it does seem to be a thing.

Many many conservatives also believe only one news source, and that is Fox News. Fox News is anti-Hillary. Fox News has perpetuated bogus theories of election fraud which have never been substantiated.

Like Trump being the candidate, the right's chickens are coming home to roost with many things. Thank goodness there are still many more of us out there than those who refuse to watch or look at any news source except bogus Fox News.
You obviously haven't been watching Fox News so - I will just ignore the rest of the spew.
[ In Reply To ..]
I think there are about as many liberals on this board as there are conservatives, but even if there weren't it wouldn't matter in the least with respect to this particular topic.

You see, liberals and pollsters are claiming such a HUGE margin with women for Hillary that it would HAVE to include a lot of conservative women too, and there's no doubt whatsoever that I'd be seeing something very different in these apolitical forums.

And you have no evidence whatsoever to support the idea that conservatives post more often than liberals, etc. As a matter of fact, I could show you some studies quite to the contrary, but I know how you'd just cram that into your narrative somehow. It's how liberals handle all the cognitive dissonance they have to endure.

Liberals and pollsters claiming a HUGE margin? - Or Fox News?
[ In Reply To ..]
No, I don't watch Fox News, BUT Fox News' own poll indicates Clinton is ahead (see link).

Also, this:

"A large gender gap marks the four-way race, as Trump is ahead by 7 points among men, while Clinton is up 17 points among women."

Can they all be wrong? I guess we will have to "wait and see."
Oh, is it down to 17 point lead for Clinton with women? - VERY very interesting.
[ In Reply To ..]
I hadn't seen the latest number. It's actually quite a collapse from a month ago, when her lead with women was almost 30 points.
Looks like some women are waking up. Gender means nothing. - Give us a GOOD executive for a change.
[ In Reply To ..]
...and I don't care what they've got hanging (or not).

This girl's got her own brains. I'd vote for Trump whether he was a man or a woman.

Clinton is a piece of incompetent crap.

Your error is in thinking the boards are fairly representative - of the public. nm

[ In Reply To ..]

Why wouldn't they be? Just women who happen to work in - 2 different fields and who do crafts.

[ In Reply To ..]
There's nothing about them that would be auto-selective of any particular political party, philosophy or leanings.

They are completely auto-selective of people who visit politics boards! - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Survey sampling is complicated. The only thing you can assess about what you read on political forums is what people who participate in political forums think. That's all.

People who enjoy participating in political forums do not represent the population on the whole, any more than subscribers to Cat Fancy magazine represent animal lovers on the whole.

Actually, "natural sampling" is very UNcomplicated and can be the most accurate. - This is in my wheel house, sister
[ In Reply To ..]
You don't want to get into this with me, I promise you, because I'll bury you with examples of natural sampling that proved more accurate than any of the contrived methods of sampling.

There's no evidence that conservatives are more or less inclined to participate in political online discussions than liberals.

Okay?!

Let's just drop this, because your claims are totally bogus.
She doesn't have to support her assumptions. - She's a liberal.
[ In Reply To ..]
Liberals will gibber anything that happens to suit their narrative or their world view.

If you hope to get liberals to stop doing this, you might as well tell your cat not to molest mice.
Need we make this peronal? - nm
[ In Reply To ..]
If it's in your wheelhouse, sister, then you understand what I'm saying - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Go ahead and bury me with examples. I'll welcome it. I'm not the poster who opined about conservatives. I am the poster who suggested that posts on political boards tell us ONLY about the opinions of that population. Check your wheelhouse for details.

Similar to no Democrat signs in my region - bluer than blue

[ In Reply To ..]
There are rarely Democrat signs in yards in my area. Why? Because we don't need to put up signs. We think political yard signs are crass. The Pubs have multiples of the same signs in their yards and we all think they look tacky.

We are bluer than blue here.

Also, we are bit afraid of the crazy Republicans being vandals and worse.

You're right not to fear Republican sign-stealers. - That is strictly a liberal hobby. nm

A quick visit to YouTube will prove that.

I Too Find It Interesting How Political PlatformsApr 14, 2015
Not sure where the Christianity/politics comment went, or why, but perhaps a less faith-based comment would survive. I could care less what religion a politician is.   I find it odd and distasteful that there seems to be a competition on as to which politician can be the most Christian or Christian enough to get the populace to vote for them.  I guess it is no different than which is more physically attractive.  They don't need to be Christian to run this country, unle ...

In response to the Bambi name - I too thought it was in reference to (duh) Bambi the cartoon. So I'm listening to something on Fox called The Five or at five or something like that. It's got Greg Guttfeld, Bob Beckel and a couple other people I've seen on Fox but don't know their names. Anyway... they were talking about digging in the Everglades and some insane thing Bachman said and someone said Michelle Bachman is a Bambi, then as they were going off the air for a ...
