Four states sue to block Obama's Internet giveaway set for Saturday

Posted: Sep 29, 2016

The US government, much to the chagrin of Senator Ted Cruz, is set to officially relinquish the Department of Commerce's oversight of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) as of tomorrow night at midnight. ICANN is a California nonprofit that has supervised website domains since 1998, essentially under subcontract from the Commerce Department. Under the Obama transition plan oversight by the U.S. Commerce Department would end and be replaced by a multi-stakeholder community, which would include the technical community, businesses, civil society and governments. Cruz had attempted to block the internet transition by tying the recently passed funding bill to the reversal of the ICANN turnover. That said, apparently his harsh admonishments on the Senate floor failed to draw enough support from his fellow republicans to force a government shutdown over the topic. ;

has done so much to harm this country but nothing as damaging to free speech as his plan to surrender the ownership of the Internet to the UN.

Frank Gaffney, the president and founder of the Center for Security Policy, discussed Obama’s latest move with Breitbart News:

What they’re [Obama] preparing to do is to cede, or surrender, the last vestige of American control, or even influence, over what is done with critical functions of the Internet. It gets pretty arcane, but the point is, if you think that the freedom of the Internet – whether it’s the ability of people to communicate freely information on it, or whether you think of it as an engine for free enterprise, let alone if you understand the contribution that it makes these days to national security – including, by the way, the operations of our critical infrastructure – you will understand that the United States retaining a measure of quality control as to what’s going on with how the Internet is populated with names and numbers, domains, websites and the like, is a very important thing.

Internet No Longer Under U.S. Control By Saturday.Sep 29, 2016
will have wholly ceded over control of the Internet to UNIDO, (United Nations Industrial Development Organization). When it is far too late for anyone to do anything about it, history will someday record that Barack Hussein Obama hijacked public access to the Internet before leaving office. Why he decided to hand over control of the Internet, to an unknown conglomerate of “international stakeholders—held by the United States for all 18 years of ICANN existence—five weeks before ...

Obama's Hidden Iran Deal Giveaway. Apr 25, 2017
By dropping charges against major arms targets, the administration infuriated Justice Department officials — and undermined its own counterproliferation task forces. When President Barack Obama announced the “one-time gesture” of releasing Iranian-born prisoners who “were not charged with terrorism or any violent offenses” last year, his administration presented the move as a modest trade-off for the greater good of the Iran nuclear agreement and Tehran’s pledge to free five Ameri ...

Butcher BlockOct 01, 2013
Does anyone know what an "old" butcher block might sell for?  It is unusual in that it has four different legs.  My mother bought it at an auction years ago, but I don't even know what she paid for it.  My father's neighbor wants to buy it, but we have no idea what to ask for it.  Could we get an auctioneer come to the house to give us an estimate as to the value of the piece?   Thanks. ...

Nixing Saturday Mail Delivery Will Hurt Minorities And Single MothersFeb 09, 2013
After the United States Postal Service announced that it intends to stop delivering mail on Saturdays in an effort to cut costs beginning this August, many praised it as a relatively straightforward way to save roughly $2 billion a year. Some lamented the inconvenience of the change and others were alarmed at what that means for post office employees. Not many, though, tied the matter to race or gender. Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) was apparently one of them. He explained on MSNBC: ...

Democrats Block Key Witness AgainstJul 28, 2017
Senate Democrats used a parliamentary maneuver Wednesday to cut short a high-profile hearing, where a key witness was set to testify on Russia's misdeeds and also raise fresh allegations against the company behind the infamous anti-Trump dossier. Bill Browder, the CEO and co-founder of Hermitage Capital, was set to tell the Senate Judiciary Committee that the co-founder of the firm Fusion GPS was hired to conduct a "smear campaign" against him. Further, he planned to testify the campai ...

blocked a Republican bill that would ban most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The measure failed to advance in a 54-42 vote, falling short of the 60 vote threshold needed. Democratic Sens. Bob Casey (Pa.), Joe Donnelly (Ind.) and Joe Manchin (W.Va.), who all oppose abortion rights, joined Republicans in voting to advance the bill. Republican Sens. Susan Collins (Maine) and Mark Kirk (Ill.), who support abortion rights, voted against it. The vote comes amid a roiling debate over Pl ...

Is Cruz And Kasich Plan To Block TrumpApr 26, 2016
Listening to Kasich double talk his and Cruz plan to block Trump now saying it is not a plan but he has just decided not to campaign in certain states    This idiot believes that if he does not campaign voters will automatically vote for Cruz. That is going to backfire big.  Kasich is banking on voters not voting for him because he did not campaign and their votes will automatically go to Cruz and not Trump.  With this Kasich/Cruz plot, I hope Trump wins overwhelmingly. &n ...

Democrats Won't Be Able To Block Trump Appointments Due To RulesNov 19, 2016
Senate Democrats are not going to be able to block Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions bid to become attorney general. And they can’t do much to stop Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo from assuming the helm of the CIA. And they have only themselves to thank for it. That’s because exactly three years ago, the Democratic Senate majority — led by Harry Reid (Nev.) — rammed through controversial rules fundamentally changing the way the Senate does business. They unleashed in November 2013 what’s call ...

Senate Democrats Block Military Funding For TheNov 06, 2015
preventing appropriations from going forward. The Democrats did this for one simple reason: they want leverage to push their liberal priorities in all the other spending bills. In short, they are using military funding as a hostage. Just last week, the Senate passed the Bipartisan Budget Act, a budget deal that raised the legal spending caps for both defense and non-defense discretionary spending. This deal, which was opposed by many Republicans, gave President Obama and Democrats in Cong ...

The ability of liberals to tolerate the mental strain of cognitive dissonance (holding 2 opposing ideas in your head at once) never ceases to amaze me.  *They can oppose the death penalty while approving abortions.  *They can support unchecked illegal immigration while calling for increases in the minimum wage.  * They like the 1st amendment - except when they don't like the speech it protects. * They hate capitalism and capitalists - except when they start looking around ...
