FCC commissioner on Internet oversight switch. "If you cherish free

Posted: Sep 28, 2016

This is irreversible." On Wednesday’s “Sean Hannity Show,” FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai (R) stated that the plan to “essentially give up the US oversight role…of the Internet” to ICANN is something that should worry anyone who cherishes “free expression, and free speech rights generally,” and could potentially cede oversight of the Internet to “foreign governments who might not share our values.” He further stated that such a move is “irreversible.” Pai said, “This proposal is to essentially give up the US oversight role that it’s had for the last 20 years, basically for the entire commercial lifespan of the Internet to a company called ICANN, which is an international organization, which includes a number of foreign countries. And, it’s an unprecedented move, and one that, as Mr. DeMint pointed out, is irreversible. Once we give up this oversight role, we can’t get it back.” He added that Internet oversight is a case of, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Pai further stated, “[I]f you cherish free expression, and free speech rights generally, you should be worried, I think, when there’s — this oversight role’s going to be ceded to potentially, foreign governments who might not share our values.” Breitbart ;

This is very disturbing and seems like a dumb thing to - do. I can't find any good reason

for this.

Most Americans don't realize what a huge leap this is toward - a one-world government.

This fits right in with the Obama plan, and the consequences not "might be" but WILL BE dire.

There will be only a handful of "approved" news sources, which will be the ones that toe the line with regard to what they publish.

There will be no more anonymity which, although it has downsides, has unquestionably been one of the reasons that information has come out that governments and other powerful entities wished to suppress.

You will have to pay an Internet tax, and you will receive a universal Internet ID number which will be required to access the Internet, and by which you can be tracked. As you can imagine, a universal ID number can also be used for many, many other purposes of control and surveillance.

...I've just touched on the elephant's trunk. Much more to follow.

It will be used to suppress political speech, which is what the - first amendment is really about.

People will be too afraid to say things.
The govt doesn't like it when you criticize them.

Gov't. wants Twitter - to diviulge users' info

I wonder what they'd want that for....

ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and - Numbers, will be able to track what you

Little Oversight .. Home SchoolingOct 03, 2015
Here is a great article about home schooling in my state. The article states that home schooled kids are only required to take four standardized tests over the course of their education, but it doesn't say, that even if the child fails, there is nothing in place to cause them to be investigated or to remove their home schooling status. Otherwise, I think it was a good article. The contractor that reported this case is a friend of mine. He was appalled at what he saw happening to this child. ...

This could be the reason why Hillary has cancelled almost all events from now until election day except for private fundraisers. See the video for a list of reasons why Hillary's campaign i ...

"Cities Weigh Taking Over From Private Utilities" To SwitchMar 15, 2013
Gist is private utility companies (70% of us buy from private) tend to charge too much, to shave services to enhance profits (among other things, tending to be slower to restore power after outages and to be unwilling to bury power lines), to pay their executives too much, and to be unwilling to advance to new energy sources.  Publicly owned power tends to be cheaper and more responsive in all ways, and overall far more interested in investing in change to meet future needs now. But, altho ...
