I think one of the less talked about appeals of Donald Trump is anti-intellectualism as much as anything else.  His vocabulary has been described as juvenile which I imagine is about the same level as many of his followers.  They are tired of someone with a superior education talking down to them.  They understand Trump and don't have to open a dictionary or educate themselves to know what he's saying.
