A note about DT from a friend in NY

Posted: Sep 19, 2016

we have something called star..a reduction on property tax, (not a lot..but I'm not proud.)there is an income limit..$500,000...and then there is no eligibility! He was granted star twice in 2014( I think that may have been the year)..he said it was a clerical error...pure fantasy! He had to have applied for it, and then the city checks out the application, and then, in this case..he was granted the star credit! He had to show less than $500,000 income!!

Did anybody die because of this, like in the Hillary Clinton - Benghazi coverup? The left

We know that he is totally driven by ego and greed.

Whenever I hear some grandiose promise from Trump, I always wonder where is he going to get the money? I think he promised some sort of free childcare and he would pay for it from "unemployment fraud". Does he even know anything about unemployment, much less even unemployment fraud? I understand unemployment is paid from previous quarters of work--how is there fraud in there? I wonder what all the California MTs think about him taking away unemployment that has been earned?

Then he wants to take away the ACA at a time where I might need personal coverage before Medicare kicks in. There is no way I can get insurance with my pre-existing health conditions. Will he privatize SS and MC? I am pretty sure he will figure out how to profit off it for himself.

Now there are all kinds of stories about he has not donated to his own charity, but just solicited money from others. Then used the money, not for charity, but to pay his bribes.

He is like a gangster. The journalists have been afraid to fact check him because he sues everyone.

I guess I could just go on and on because he is so disgusting. Not the America I grew up in and it is because of people like Trump.

Wrong. Hillary and the rest are at fault - yurmistaken

You really need to do your homework or you will vote for a real nasty person, Hildabeast who will continue all of Obama's awful edicts.

It is such a shame you choose to stay so blind and follow blindly a foolish woman who is not healthy enough, despite her doctor's notes and because she has made so many mistakes which cost people lives and if you think that the Clinton's have not had friends or workers who died in mysterious circumstances. Sorry but if you continue your thinking, it is going to come back to not only disappoint you but bite you.

Not the Amerika you grew up in? Who's been in charge for the - last 8 years? Not Trump.

I grew up when people had character and knew right from wrong - sm

My family, school and community valued "doing the right thing" even when that might be hard. When we found lost money, we would try find the owner. When we saw a kid getting bullied, we stood up for them. When someone lost a house or had medical bills, we would have a benefit. We said the pledge of allegiance in school, but when someone decided they could not join in for whatever reason, we respected that and did what was in our own hearts.

I see Trump "shooting from the hip", not thinking before speaking, saying horrible things about women, veterans like John McCain and the Kahn family. He is totally involved in his poll numbers and does not care about any real issues--he just says whatever he thinks will get a vote in his personal ratings game, and now he is trying to win the poll that decides who our president is like it is some sort of trophy.

NOT the way I grew up.

Trump hasn't fast trackedterrorist into our country like BO and - Clintoon or leaked classified information.

Oh, wait. She can’t stand up.

Trump had a spectacular crowd in Florida today. Not only - was the main venue filled to

overflowing, just as many were outside and even more in another room at the facility. In addition to those in attendance, any 60 thousand were watching on RSBN via you tube/ROKU.

Nobody cares about the tax thing.

It's terrorism and making us great again that we care about.

People are drawn to freak shows.

I think America is waking up. I mean, Hillary's response to - the Chelsea bombing was embarrassing.

[ In Reply To ..]
The homeless guys who found the bomb in Elizabeth should get a reward. They found it in a garbage can and moved it to a safe area before calling police, as well as the off duty police officer.

And this proves what? - LOL

Oh, boy, the libbies are really grasping. Be careful that you don't pull a muscle.

Read what Judge Learned Hand said on this subject: - (sm)

[ In Reply To ..]
"Over and over again courts have said that there is nothing sinister in so arranging one's affairs as to keep taxes as low as possible. Everybody does so, rich or poor; and all do right, for nobody owes any public duty to pay more than the law demands. Taxes are enforced exactions, not voluntary contributions. To demand more in the name of morals is mere cant."

("Cant", by the way, isn't used much now. It meant hypocritical, sanctimonious sermonizing.)

So here's my view:

1. Donald Trump, and just as importantly, his tax people, didn't write any tax laws, whether the STAR credit or any other. A long string of thousands of other people down through many, many decades have created our federal and state tax codes, for better or worse, with all of their various provisions that, APPLIED IN THEIR ENTIRETY, define an individual's tax obligation. They don't apply to just some, they apply to all.

2. Anyone (including people that I don't like*, just as you don't like Trump) is entitled to avail themselves of any and all provisions in the law that reduce their tax obligation.

3. I don't care if Donald Trump, or Hillary Clinton, or George Clooney, or Jack Nicholson, or Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid, reduce their taxable income to the point that they qualify for food stamps, Section 8 housing and an Obama phone. If we don't like the tax laws, let's do away with them or change them.

Read Learned Hand again. The only thing that amounts to "taking advantage" of the law in my book is lying on your tax return.

* Shall we discuss wealthy Democrats who aren't farmers, but who conveniently own enough acreage to take advantage of very generous federal farm credits for NOT producing certain crops every year?

Or shall we discuss the tax exempt status of the Clinton Foundation?

In fact, shall we go through the entire sordid history of tax filings by powerful Democrats?

Hmmmm....? If we're going to have a shootout, as Doc Holiday said to Johnny Ringo in Tombstone, "I'm your huckleberry." And you know what happened next.

here's the article on it - quite interesting indeed

To those of you who favor Trump and are newspaper subscribers, please look and see if George Will's column is in today's paper.  I don't think his conservative credentials can be questioned.  He is asking what DT's connections are to Putin and whether DT has business interests in Russia.  The only way we will know this is by DT releasing his personal and business tax records.  This is very important and even Trump supporters should be interested in getting ...

A Note From Nov 13, 2013
What we said was; If you think I was being honest with you about health care, you're naive, I only said that you could keep your health care and your doctor to sucker you into voting for me.... PERIOD. I am sorry you are now stuck in this circumstance, but it was more important to get your vote than it was to actually care about your health coverage. Soon you too can go to health care .gov and give your personal data to a hacker or to some unscreened employee who has previously been in pris ...

If someone writes abiout politicians (no matter what party) and are criticizing politicians and issues, policies, etc it stays.  Period! Quit reporting posts because you don't like what people with opposing views of yours write.  When people post about what republican or democrats are doing they are obviously not talking about posters here. So to make it simple...if you comment or ridicule other posters on this board your post will be gone, if you talk about politicians, policie ...

Hi all- I'm not wanting to start a big fight here, so that's not my purpose.  I just want to address an issue that many people share. And would like thoughts on both sides. It's perfume (not including scented body sprays) users who use too much.  This can easily happen to the wearer, particularly if you wear the same perfume every day. Your nose gets used to it, so you might be using more than you initially did and not even realize it. (Kind of like someone who smokes d ...

If posters continue to call us Tbag, Tpub or whatever I say you allow us to call them Communitsts and Nazi's (at least that is more accurate). Many people are taking great joy in insulting conservatives by calling them Tbags, Tpubs or referring to conservatives as teabaggers (then acting innocent as if they didn't know this was insulting).  This is not true.  Not all conservatives belong to the tea party.  They need to get it correct too.  If they want to refer to ...

On A Lighter Note, A Pollster's Observation Of AOct 10, 2012
From E. J. Dionne in the Washington Post: "I was talking with an old friend who is with one of the nonpartisan polling outfits (and who also happens to be a very good and fair-minded pollster). We were discussing the large shifts in some of the polls on the presidential election and the feedback he receives whenever he puts out new numbers that make one side or the other unhappy. He offered an observation so priceless that it needs to be widely shared. 'When you give conservatives bad news ...

On Another Note, Biden And McConnell's Plan Dec 31, 2012
This was before Obama's speech. BTW, according to Sen. Corker, Obama wants to pay for the sequester cuts (and have them taken out of this new legislation) with the tax increase revenue and not reduce spending cuts already agreed to and not the deficit. Again, Obama doesn't know how to add or subtract. Taking in $80 billion and spending $60 billion does not give $80 billion towards spending reduction on the debt. This story has been updated. Vice President Biden and Senate Minor ...

on that word, as if we are not all entitled to draw when needed from the programs WE pay into that we set up specifically for US.  Entitled and entitlement are not sneer words. They mean we paid for it and it's ours. But he's sneering anyway. My Best FriendDec 27, 2010
I just need to unload some of this now.  My best friend, Jane (whom I have literally know since kindergarten) had a serious bout of depression about two months ago.  She called me one evening telling me she had a meltdown at work.  She told me at that time she was suicidal.  I asked if she had a plan.  She said she did.  That terrified me, and I talked to her that night on the phone urging her to get help.  She did just that.  She is now seeing a therapist ...

I Can't Seem To Let My Friend Help MeDec 10, 2010
I have a wonderful friend who happens to have a husband worth millions.  I live quite far below poverty level.  I'm a single mom and I do make ends meet, bills are paid, child is happy, we truly do have everything we need.  My car is paid for and I easily manage my tiny mortgage.  Here's the thing -- a couple of months ago part of my tooth broke away from the filling and I really need dental care (of course, I have no insurance).  My dear friend insists on ...

Friend Needs HelpApr 04, 2011
I have a friend who is dire need of some kinds of help, and I don't know what to suggest for him. He's a guy in his late 50's, and a few weeks ago he had a terrible bike accident.  It was nighttime, he was in the city, and he hit some kind of a curb or a barrier, and went flying.  He was pretty sure he dislocated his hip, and sprained both wrists.  The problem is that he's currently unemployed, and has no health insurance.  Apparently he was alone when i ...

Hi all, One of hubby's co-workers has OCD, by her own admission. Hubby and I have come to enjoy her and her husban'd company socially, as they're quite fun, but she drives us all nuts. Her mouth doesn't stop talking, and it's not just normal talking. Everything that happens is a spiral downhill of some sort of tragedy.
