My doc just prescribed Jardiance.  It is $441 for 10 mg #30 at Sams!!!!  Who's kidding who.  I'm not taking it.  Has anyone tried Canadian pharmacies.  I know my ex uses them.  How do you get a Rx to them.

My psychiatrist prescribed Latuda for me after I told him how much I liked the samples he provided. $910 at Walgreen's. People just can't afford to be sick in this country.

About a year ago, I was prescribed Latuda. The cost at my local pharmacy was over $800.00. No way, baby. I had to pass on this one. I think I heard that markups on many meds are 700% and increasing monthly, including necessary life-preserving generic BP meds. It's just ridiculous.

There was a story on the news this week that one of the least expensive pharmacies is Costco. Apparently you don't even have to be a member...you just tell them that you're only going to the pharmacy (not shopping), and you don't need a membership card.

I even declined to have a prescription filled for my very elderly (95-y-o) mother because of the outrageous cost. I felt a little guilty at the time, and her insurance may have covered most, or all, of the cost, but in my opinion NO PILL IS WORTH $1000.00. Give me a break.

saving card that will save you $410 a month, in some cases you can pay $0. I was taking an expensive insulin and I was able to get it for only $15 through that company's savings card. The cost of some of these new drugs are outrageous!

Here is the link to the saving card page.

My sister is retired, and on Medicare. She is on 7 different meds, and I had her get written scripts and took them to WM and her total cost was only $4 and some were free. Free atorvastatin at Meijer's. If this is not cheaper, try to call doc and ask for samples, as you cannot afford the med he wrote for. Can he give you a different med that is cheaper? Good luck.

I have heard that their are apps for smartphones that will look for the lowest price of a drug in your area. My insurance requires us to use a mail order pharmacy so I it is useless for me but it may be worth checking out. If you cannot find it for an acceptable price, I would ask for a more affordable alternative and save the newer, more expensive one only if the cheaper options do not work.

Canadian pharmacies - I've used them

You have to shop around, but some of them will give you an "online consult" by a doctor. If you have a paper script for a medication, they will let you fax it in and approve you based on that.

I also have ordered Cialis from China for my husband. It was the same dang pill we got at our local pharmacy for 43$ a pop, at a cost of only $2. At least it looked the same and worked the same. Of course, you're always taking your chances with that kind of thing. And it can be confiscated at the border. I wouldn't ever order meds like that for my kids, but for us, I've never had a problem.

I did price compare online, and 99.00 for 10 mg #30 from Canadian pharmacy was the cheapest. I have used Indian pharmacies for Provigil in the past, but I would for this.

PS from the OP - My A1c usually runs 7.

When his nurse called indicating my doc wanted me to start Jardiance, I thought, OMG, my A1c must have really jumped up.

It went from 7.1 to a whopping 7.4. I'll just quit eating my 2 daily cookies.

Ask Dr office to call drug company and see if there is a program to help - pay. Worked for me with VesiCare. nm

My sister uses one for a psych drug. She uses a prescription and faxes it. Walmart wanted close to 500 dollars and she pays about 89 dollars. It is a Canadian site, but it is shipped from India. She would not be able to get the medicine otherwise because her insurance will not pay for it and she cannot afford that much.
