Paris, and a new understanding of the value of

Posted: Nov 14, 2015

In the wake of the horrific event in Paris, one of the themes on news channels this morning is predictable - and very important:  How can a free society defend citizens who frequent "soft" targets, meaning public places where it's neither feasible, practical or perhaps even desirable to maintain the presence of armed security forces?

It's fairly obvious, even in the early after-action reports, that there was no one at any of the six or seven(?) attack sites who was armed and might have taken any action against the attackers.  What's even more important, though, is also more subtle - and one that is not fully understood by the "anti-gun" crowd - which is that is that the attackers KNEW that they would be unopposed.

We cannot have police, military or armed security forces everywhere, nor should we.  We can, however, introduce a huge measure of uncertainty to terrorist planners by the simple expedient of exercising the 2nd amendment supplemented, I propose, by advanced training centers for armed citizens.

I say this:  Let there be nowhere in this nation - ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE - that any terrorist may assume that he has freedom of action by reason of an unprepared, unarmed citizen force.

I repeat, ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE.  No church, no stadium, no restaurant, no bar, no school, no shopping mall, no workplace.

Nowhere.

...and no, an armed citizenry does not frighten me.  An unarmed, helpless citizenry frightens me - just as would have frightened YOU in Paris last night.

The liberal media will again just start screaming for - more gun control.

Maybe the French need to bring the guillotine out of retirement.

No amount of gun control will keep weapons out of the - hands of terrorists.

We see how well that's worked with ordinary "garden-variety" criminals, thugs and gangstas - NOT!

Eligible citizens (of adult age, and without criminal backgrounds or mental illness) should be encouraged to arm themselves AND should receive a tax deduction in the amount of the weapon they purchase as well as the cost of training in its use during active-shooter situations, which should be available in certified training centers all over the country.

And lack of gun control won't make us any - safer from them, either.

Check out these purses for CCW...I know they are - quite pricey.

Obama's Paris Agreement In Simple TermsJun 02, 2017
Today the Obama Administration will sign the Paris climate agreement at a ceremony in New York, a move that is projected to severely impact the U.S. economy with ironically negligible impacts for the environment. Paris To Build A "wall" Around Eiffel Tower As TerrorismJun 30, 2017
Americans are still waiting for a border wall, but France is set to get a wall of their own by the end of the year. Unlike the American iteration, this barrier won’t be erected on the French border. It’s set to surround the Eiffel Tower to shield it from terrorist attacks. Last month, the Paris city council approved a $20 million bulletproof glass wall, just over 8 feet high, that will surround the iconic tower. In a country proudly obsessed with art and beauty, this will be an obno ...
