Obama is NOT welcome

Who is he to speak for everyone in Roseburg, Oregon? - no message

Evidently the residents of Roseburg says he is. - OR MT - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Everyone here has the same sentiment.

Evidence of that is questionable - he is the only one saying it

[ In Reply To ..]
That I have heard of. I know the families of the deceased may welcome him, I know I would.

Would that this would happen to someone associated with this editor, the NRA, or a politician bought by the NRA. Sorry to wish it on anyone, but what will it take to wake up?

We've seen it happen again and again, people who have had their lives changed drastically and horrifically go out there to the public and try to make it so it can't happen to anyone else. That is a positive and unselfish way of channeling the grief and anger that must come after something like this affects your family.

Unless you have a dog in this fight, and that editor most certainly does NOT, you have no right to speak for anyone.

Who are YOU to speak for Roseburg? - ?

[ In Reply To ..]

Kudos to them for seeing thru BO's sicko agenda - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
of wanting to politicize their tragedy.

Oblunderbritches should be ashamed of himself!!

IT is a National Tragedy--it is not JUST their - tragedy--gun control is a national issue

[ In Reply To ..]
We are the UNITED States of America and President Obama is the PRESIDENT of the UNITED States of America.

We are going to publicize and politicize every single one of these "tragedies." I heard a woman early on in this being interviewed, she seemed sort of in a quandary because she obviously believes in the gun culture and it turned on her, with her son in a class at that college and the concern she had. I could hear her questioning her own support of gun "rights" and whether it was worth it to have her child in jeopardy. She talked of how good he was with guns and how they enjoyed using their guns and hunting too...but you could hear her wondering, is it worth it?

I asked my gun the other day if she was going to walk out of the - house and commit a crime.

[ In Reply To ..]
She told me no, that could only happen if I DID IT. She had no control. It's all up to me.

This was about evil. The gun was the tool.
I asked my guns based on the liberal assumption that they - were responsible for mass
[ In Reply To ..]
the shootings rather than the perpetrators. They informed me that they felt very comfortable and at home in my house right where I left them and maintain the status quo.
My guns told me the same thing! - LOL

One has to question the sanity of people who - talk to their guns.....

Or who think somehow the gun did a deed on its - own.

Maybe guns DO kill people - sounds like they got
[ In Reply To ..]
minds of their own.
They obviously must, because the people who - own them certainly dont.

when crimes or accidents happen using their guns. When your gun is not properly secured and someone dies, especially a child, you should be held accountable for that death.
Including if it's not secured, it's stolen, and - used in commision of a crime.
[ In Reply To ..]
If you own a dog, and it gets out of the backyard and bites someone, it's still your dog. You just didn't secure it properly. Should be the same for guns.

Gun control is for law abiding citizens, not crazies - or criminals. It will not reduce

crime. And if one amendment can be done away with by executive action, which one is next? The first, the fifth?

Those who identify themselves with the people, have confidence in them, cherish and consider them as the most honest and safe, although not the most wise depositary of the public interests.” - Thomas Jefferson

I'm in the #2 crowd.
Bernie's the latter, which is why he will win - the nomination and the election.

While the right bang their heads against a - wall and shout out nonsense at
[ In Reply To ..]
the tops of their lungs, the left is quietly coming together to listen to the real truth about what this country has become, and to get the vote out in 2016.
Except most criminals obtain their guns by - stealing them from law-abiding citizens.
[ In Reply To ..]
You won't get rid of guns in the hands of criminals unless you vastly reduce the availability of guns in general, and unless you put more effort into avoiding the causes of criminal behavior in the first place. The whole thing isn't a black-or-white issue.

The biggest threat to us comes from open borders/illegal - aliens/immigrants not compatible

I already know the boiler plate response from the left. - "Background checks" and

[ In Reply To ..]
gun show loopholes” are canards. Background checks are already performed on all transactions between an individual and an FFL dealer. My husband has never bought a firearm at a gun show where he didn’t have to complete a BATF Form 4473 and have a background check.

As usual, the democrats are lying again.

If the same were to happen in the town where - you live, would you rather

[ In Reply To ..]
the President, the media, and the rest of the country just avert their eyes and pretend it never happened?

Oh yes. Everything Obama does has some sicko - agenda. This is why the

[ In Reply To ..]
right is not going to have a chance in 2016. They've become a party of do-nothings that can't accomplish anything worthwhile, because they're too busy calling names and obstructing true progress in this country.

For every Righty who so vociferously proclaims their politicians to be the future of America, there are ten Leftys who are saying nothing, and will quietly go out and vote - making sure that won't happen.

Rightys can flap their yaps all they want, but no matter how much they do, it won't change the tripe that comes spewing out.

Well who died and made him.... - I doubt families of deceased agree

[ In Reply To ..]
With the editor of this local rag (I pity the people of this burg if that is the editor, he is hardly what you would call erudite or a thinking editor).

Woohoo, this guy Jaques got his dumb face on Breitbart and O'Reilly, etc. So what?

Who is he to speak for the community, he is not anyone representative of the people. I don't hear any of the family members saying this.

It is a terrible tragedy which has happened again and again and our president is letting the survivors know he feels for them and is supporting them.

I for one am glad President Obama is doing this, not that anything will happen because so many politicians have been bought by the NRA, but you can't stop the president showing sympathy and support and if it happens to draw attention to how ridiculously easy it is for this to happen and how it seems to be happening more and more frequently, well so be it. Good thing.

This editor is a jerk.

Actually at least one family is against gun control, - stating taking ownership of the act

[ In Reply To ..]
by the murder who committed the evil act.

I think everyone states that, but that is hardly - being against gun control

[ In Reply To ..]
In fact, the majority of Americans, gun owners and non gun owners, agree on issues like background checks and assault weapons, the NRA just likes to obfuscate to polarize people into pro and anti.
We already have background checks. Assault weapon - is just a term to scare people.
[ In Reply To ..]
An Assault Rifle is a term used buy the military to denote a selective type of fire.
So assault rifles make good home-protection - or hunting weapons?
[ In Reply To ..]
Maybe for people who can't hit the broad side of a barn, perhaps. But then again, I sure wouldn't want to be living next door to someone who owns any kind of gun and can't shoot the danged thing straight.

So they don't think there was a problem with - a crazy owning 13 guns?

[ In Reply To ..]
That sounds a little "off" itself, doesn't it?

The families of the deceased in Roseburg very - likely are NOT pro-NRA these days.

[ In Reply To ..]
^

I've heard of a place where only guns are held by - the gvt, free meals, healthcare,

[ In Reply To ..]
dental, no alcohol or drugs allowed. Sound like utopia? It’s called prison.

Everyone who enters and NRA office comes out alive. - Not so with Planned Parenthood.

[ In Reply To ..]
Abortion is acceptable murder, not by gun.

Whenever a thread is suddenly hijacked by - pro-lifer drivel, ya gotta laugh.

[ In Reply To ..]
Talk about a one-track mind...

So regulating women's uteri is good, regulating guns is bad. - got it (nm)

Sounds more like scandinavia, which if you've - ever been, is pretty close to utopia.

[ In Reply To ..]

In Chicago, the violence is so bad you're a sitting duck, - same in Detroit. Even the police

[ In Reply To ..]
chief advised people arm themselves because the police force was at the point they were unable to respond to the violence.

Hate to break this to you, but you're a sitting - duck everywhere in America.

[ In Reply To ..]
ESPECIALLY in small towns that think they are somehow safely insulated against violence. When you look back at other mass-shooting events such as this, they seem to occur most often in the smaller towns, not in big cities.

So let me get this one straight: GOP peeps - want the kid who protected -

[ In Reply To ..]
others from the shooter and got shot himself, who is now recovering in the hospital, to get an invite to the white house for a visit, but after a tragedy happens in Roseburg, it's now somehow a "travesty" that the president is coming to visit?

If that's true, what happened, Oregon? You used to be an even more forward-thinking, progressive state than Cali thinks it is. Now you're turning into just another gun-loving red state? Sad.

ROSEBURG DID NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA - THEY BELIEVE IN THE 2ND AMENDMENT.

[ In Reply To ..]
KATU NEWS in Oregon posted how Obama was coming to Roseburg. There were over 450 comments and 90% stated for Obama not to come. Only the heart of Portland and Corvallis (home of OSU) and Eugene (Home of the Ducks) voted for Obama. The majority of other areas like Roseburg DID NOT VOTE for Obama. Roseburg is a very small CHRISTIAN town who are Republicans. I live 2 hours away from Roseburg.

Just because some people in Rosenburg may - not have voted for Obama,

[ In Reply To ..]
don't you think it would be extremely selfish and rude of them not to forget about politics long enough to accept his condolences for their tragedy with some kind of grace?

If not, then that illustrates a lot of what the majority of people find distasteful about the current Republican party. Total lack of grace.

Ooops on the "n" in Roseburg... auto-correct - again! It never heard of Roseburg..
