Storing a car.

Posted: Sep 28, 2015

I am going to be away for several months and need to figure out something to do with my car for that time.  There is no person I have that can be trusted or that I am close enough to to burden with taking care of my car while I am gone.  I can rent a parking spot fairly cheaply, but I am afraid rodents will take up residence in the car and that it will be unhealthy for the car no to be driven for that time.  Any suggestions on what I can do?

place. My father had a garage that was not in use (he used another one on the property) and the neighbor out of the country left his car in the garage for some time. Maybe exchange of money, not sure but worked for the two.

If it is not driven and maintained - xx

there is a possibility that the seals and gaskets will dry out and things like hoses and tires can deteriorate. You already are aware of the possible rodent infestation issue. If someone could drive it for a few miles once a week or so (maybe not even that often) and keep the fluids topped up and circulating, it would probably be fine for a few months. Just sitting in a parking lot it will probably need some work done and parts replaced once you get back to it.

your question to the OP? You responded to my post, but I don't think you meant that. Where I live is irrelevant. I'm not the one needing to store a car.
