memory foam bed

I'm thinking of getting a Saatva mattress as my back has been killing me lately on my regular mattress. Does anyone have experience with this?

I don't know about that brand, but I bought a memory foam bed about two years ago. It is the best thing that ever happened for my back and arthritic joints. I highly recommend it for painful skeletal conditions. I actually look forward to going to bed now, instead of dreading it, because of the pain. If everyone had one I believe we would have a happier world.

and he absolutely loves it! I sit on it sometimes when I visit him and it gives but just the least little bit. Good support.

I bet that caught your attention...LOL.

I was waiting for my house to be inhabitable again after a flood and was staying with different friends. One friend had a memory foam bed (I don't know which kind). It was comfortable enough, but it was HOT! I was steamy hot all night long and never slept a wink. However, this was about two years ago. Maybe they are different now. Good luck to you!!

That's why I specifically mentioned that brand as supposedly it is NOT hot like most other memory foams. Unfortunately it's only available online so I can't try one out at a store.

I would never - buy a mattress without

being able to try it out. I had a memory foam pillow top mattress and got rid of it after 5 years. Aside from it being hot, once you got into a sleeping position and wished to change positions later on during the night, you find you had "fallen into a hole" and had a difficult time getting out of it. i felt trapped, as well as hot. Of course, they SAY they are different now, but after that experience, I would never again even try it. They were also very heavy and hard to put sheets on. My newer mattress is much lighter and has no memory foam. It is firm and good for my back issues. I have thought about trying out the "sleep number" bed though. Some people swear by those, too. wish you luck.

Thanks for the input - I do have reservations about it being too hot. I think I'll hold off on this particular mattress.

I have a memory foam pillow top mattress and I love it. I don't find it too hot at all and never had any of the problems one of the other posters had. Everyone is an individual though and have different sleep habits and what they're comfortable with. I also have a memory foam pillow which I love, but my husband couldn't stand his and now I have two.

bed, the same one, for 15 years; and it's still going strong. When I bought it, they were called Sleep Comfort. I have a friend who has one, and she finds it cool but I don't. I also turn back the covers before bedtime and let it soak up the ambient room air. Of course, once you're in it with covers on, you toast right up. My number is 35-40. It's a King with dual controls.

We got 2 of the 12" mattresses off Amazon in late February and love them. Took my husband a few times sleeping on his to get used to it but I loved it from the start. We got manually adjustable bed frames and got the split king, which are actually XL twin beds. I was really hesitant about buying a bed without trying but the reviews were so good decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did.

We also got a merax 8" twin for a day bed when our granddaughter came to visit a while back. She said it was really comfortable and wants one for her bed. The only reason I didn't get a thicker mattress was that the daybed frame is pretty scrollwork and the thicker mattress would have covered it all up. She's also a skinny little thing and hubby and I are, well, NOT.

Neither of them are hot, but they both have the gelfoam outer layer.

I recently got a new bed that is a hybrid between a traditional bed and memory foam. It is amazingly comfortable, made by Beauty Rest. I like this one better than I liked just plain memory foam. Good luck! I hope you get the bed you want.

How Do Gauge If Someone Is Faking Memory Loss?Mar 19, 2010
Here's the situation.  I have been separated from my husband for about six months.  In February, he had major knee surgery, reconstruction of ligaments with cadaver ligaments, etc.  He was instructed no weightbearing for eight weeks.  He has no family in the area and his best friend whom he'd been living with basically didn't show up to pick him up from the hospital.  We've maintained a friendly seperation and since I was his "next of kin," I was at t ...
