Anybody know anything about this "It Works"

Posted: Jul 25, 2015

I am observing someone who says they are making a ton of money as a distributor of these "It Works" wraps. I have done research on this company and it seems people are indeed making a lot of money and the wrap overall is touted as working to reduce fat in areas of the body. They also have other products for health.  This seems to be a pyramid scheme. Supposedly people are making 20 grand a month. Part of me says if it is too good to be true it is not true.  I am a MT for over 20 years, went back to school and got my Master's, now working to pay off student loans.  I am really tempted by this thing.  Has anyone any experience with this It Works company, product, experience. Interested to find out more.

;

I only see fat girls selling it - thats all I know

so "It Works" apparently doesn't.

I noticed that. Though the gal I know - MT

who does well at it is super thin and she and her team all go to the gym. Maybe it is more of a thing which people do and then get all excited about going to the gym. I am not fat, nor skinny, just normal, but I am not excited about the gym. I am more interested in this pyramid thing. And of course the 20K a month. lol.

Wraps are known not to work - no surprise there

Wraps are known not to work. Most weight loss products don't work. Many other health and herbal products are junk.

If it looks like a pyramid scheme, it is a pyramid scheme. If it isn't, ask yourself why you would want to prey on people by selling them junk.

If you do some real research yo uwill find that it is - another pyramid scheme and SM

another weight loss scam. It's water weight is all.

I google searched the phrase "It works" wraps scam, and if you do the same for "that crazy wrap thing" you will find the same information.

Under the first search there should be a page on a very popular social media site under the google choices titled "It Works Body Wraps Are Total Scam".

They are all the same thing, get a credit card number and the company keeps auto charging for more wrap crap to be sent, costs a lot of money to send back, and you can never get a human to cancel your account, errors galore, and the charges continue to stack up on your card unless you cancel the card iteslf.

Yes, dont be gullible; it is another too good to be true scheme. The reason that broad is making money is because she is hooking other gullible people into signing up and/or just plain lying about it.

See all those scheme posts on that popular social media site? Those posts with faked, photoshopped bank account information? That's all it is, fake and photoshopped.

My instincts tell me you are right. - The OP

Yeah, sadly I believe you are right. This MTing business has gotten me so that I am dreaming of easier roads and I was hoping this Wrap thing was true. I did google those things and also It Works on Glassdoor. Plus I am against that bank card/credit card charging thing (autocharge). That is also a tell tale sign. My gut agrees totally with you. My head in the clouds was hoping but no one is getting rich quick over here I guess...

IT WORKS - It works for me

I use the products and I am not a distributor. I love the products and just as so many other things in life you have to do your part so the products can do what they are meant to do. This means drinking at least 8 glasses a water a day, eating fairly healthy, getting exercise and using the products consistently not hit and miss. I personally think they have great products. Everything I have tried has done what they claimed it would do :-)

Do you use the wrap and what else - MT

[ In Reply To ..]
Curious to know which ones you use...I might give it a try as a customer but not with autoship, so wondering which ones you use that you like.

On the other hand - xx

It is very likely that it is the healthy lifestyle you are following rather than the dubious product that is responsible for your results.

exactly what I was thinking - stop wasting your $$$$

I am an It Works! distributor. I have tried many of their products and they are all great! The wraps really do work and are not just for "FAT PEOPLE." I am not fat and use them often to show all my hard work in the gym. I would love to speak with you about joining my team! I am a part of one of the top teams!!! It's a great time to join. Your kit will include an extra box of 4 wraps. So for $99 you get 2 boxes of wraps, fab wrap, and sample size bottles of defining gel!! Please email me at clgraham74@gmail.com and go to my website www.heavenlyandfit.com to check out the opportunity!

i did not say it was FOR fat people. I said only know fat people who SELL it - get it straight

[ In Reply To ..]
I have 2 girls on my friends list on FB who sell it and are big girls. I know they are in it for the discounts but quite honestly it's bad for business. It's like being an obese dietitian. before you get all flamy on me, I'm overweight myself so i'm not judging. I'm just saying....it's like promoting toothpaste with a mouth full of rotting teeth. You probably aren't going to get a lot of sales.

I understand where you are coming from. I wasn't blasting you for saying that at all. I just didn't want the original poster who asked about It Works to get the wrong idea. It really is a great company with great products.

here's the deal - anon

My daughter worked for the company, and after several months she left because she didn't like it. She liked the product and I think they're a waste of money.

It is a "business" and you have run it like a "business" - Some people love it some do not

Three areas I would love to touch on.

1. As stated in my first post.....it works for me :-) It is NOT a waste of money because I see benefits, I like the products, and they make me happy so therefore it is not a waste of money for me. I am not a perfect picture of health by any stretch of the imagination. The extent of my exercise is 15 to 20 minutes of walking my dog on most days. I eat what I want and when I want but I do watch my portions. I have always drank a lot so that was just part of my natural routine. It is like any other product that has instructions to follow and if you do not follow them you will not see results......the user is probably 90% or higher for not following the directions then screaming it is a scam, which leads me to my second point.
2. It is NOT a pyramid scheme!! Those are illegal in this country. It is network marketing company just like Avon, Tupperware, Scentsy, and Mary Kay just to name a few legit businesses. The company is well established, debt free, and has had multiple features from very reputable sources such as the Wall Street Journal and the Home success magazine. You can pass up the person who signed you up and make more than them if you are willing to work your business like it is a job and this brings me to my last point.
3. It is a business and you have to work any network marketing company just like you would a regular job. You cannot expect to sell to 5 or 6 of your closest friends and make a living at it. You have to advertise, network, and beat the pavement and any other means to get in front of new possible customers. You have to be consistent! You cannot work your business 1 week out of a month and expect to bring in a 5-figure income. There was an article in the WS journal recently (within the last year) referencing self-employed women in this country and close to 80% of women who make 6 figures or more a year are self-employed network marketers for a reputable company. My friend who is a distributor is getting ready to quit her full-time job as a RN of 20 years to work her IT Works business full time. She has been working at it very hard for almost 1 1/2 years and is finally getting to the point that she is making more money consistently working her IT Works business compared to what she brings in as a nurse. She has the perfect personality for marketing. She is very talented and a huge people person who could sell a freezer to an Eskimo.

I personally tired a product they have called "Greens" first. It is a supplement in powder form that boosts your energy and immunity, has a great probiotic and helps you get your 8 servings of fruits and vegetables that are recommended. I then tired their multi-vitamin, which my doctor said was a very good quality vitamin and it is reasonably priced even cheaper than some of the brands you would get at Wal Mart. I then tried their defining gel which is awesome and basically has the same products as the body wraps but is not as concentrated so you can use it daily. My skin looks like a baby's skin. The last product I tired was the wraps. It firmed, tightened, and toned just as promised. I had amazing results!! Plus the results can last anywhere from 3 to 6 months. I am at the point now where I just do maintenance wraps (1 to 2 a month) so the box will last me 2 months.

There is so much negativity on this board.....there are good things in life. I know all of the bad changes that have happened in the MT industry and yes it sucks! My grandmother told me once that there is something good for everything bad and that we just have to sometimes really look for the good but it IS there. Look up the Law Of Attraction.....you get back what you put out into the world, so if negativity is all you put out that is all you will get back! :-)

Thank you for this thoughtful and well written posts. Your points are well taken. I have seen that the company has very good write ups in business magazines. And this is true, it is sales and like any sales job one must work hard. But you fail to mention that it is a multilevel marketing so there is more than just great product. The success of a person depends on how many people they get to distribute and then in turn how many they get to distribute. A large part is monitoring the team and making sure the team continues to be successful down line. This takes people skills and it also reaps money. There is more money to be made than just selling product by making sure more people become distributors. That is multilevel marketing. No not pyramid but there is a huge dependency on getting people involved and that involves the autoship. Which brings me to my final point. Who wants autoship on their bank card, and if not then on credit card. The idea is to not use credit cards so I will not. Understandable to have a business credit card and watch it like a hawk. But I still will not encourage any kind of automatic payment agreement. This bothers me. It also bothers me that people hound other people to be distributors because really in the end they are thinking of their own income not the other person, that building income on top of income. This bothers me too.
There are pros and cons to it. It depends on the personality. I am not a person to want to hound people, nor am I a person to convince anyone to autoship, or even to convince anyone to be in a line multilevel marketing. So for me what is most helpful is your comment about the different products. I will study more on the value of those.
Negativity here on this board perhaps, but also chiming in are years of experience which needs to be taken seriously. People are looking out for each other and really don't mean any harm. Last thing one of us wants to see is another of us be victimized again. You see the MT field has done that once to us and who needs to go through that again. So this is why perhaps there are some touchy responses. They are only looking out for our well being according to their experience.
I am keeping an open mind and observing the person I know who markets these things. I will see how she responds to her downline and so forth. But in the end like any job to each his own. Thanks for your help!

And, yes, I drank all the water and used that gel they then up-sell you on when you say, "But nothing is happening."

I am embarrassed to say I spent so much money on something so stupid. The last time I did anything that foolish with my money was in my 20s, when I called a psychic hotline.

I see an esthetician regularly. She says they do not work. She has used them on five of her clients, and it didn't work on any of them either.

From CIA Analyst, HOW Libyan Intelligence Works And Oct 03, 2012
"High-profile Republican politicians and their media surrogates are accusing President Obama and other top White House staff of "lying" to the public about last month's deadly assault on America's diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya. Donald Trump Works For The ClintonsJul 31, 2016
Why doI think this? 1.  Because they're friends, have been friends for years and Donald didn't throw his hair into the ring until he'd talked it over with Bill Clinton.  There's a documented 2-hour phone conversation with Bill Clinton prior to Trump infiltrating the GOP. 2.  It's not rocket science: Every time the polls get close, within a few points, Cheeto makes a yuuuuge offensive statement to the press .  He insults veterans, women, Americans of ...
