SCOTUS just handed the WH to the GOP in - 2016.

The adverse impacts of UnCare (UNaffordable, UNavailable, UNworkable), as bad as they have been so far, will be far, far worse by November, 2016, and liberals will suffer their worst defeat across the board, state and federal, in history.

Remember, you heard it here first.

Congress is officially dead, the SC is now writing - law. It's going to get worse

before it gets better.

Another Supreme Court decision today getting less coverage is - the housing ruling, it basically favors

[ In Reply To ..]
Obama.

The Supreme Court handed a major victory to the Obama administration and civil rights groups on Thursday when it upheld a key tool used for more than four decades to fight housing discrimination.

The justices ruled 5-4 that federal housing laws prohibit seemingly neutral practices that harm minorities, even without proof of intentional discrimination. The case involved an appeal from Texas officials accused of violating the Fair Housing Act by awarding federal tax credits in a way that kept low-income housing out of white neighborhoods.

Justice Anthony Kennedy, often a swing vote, joined the court’s four liberal members in upholding the use of so-called “disparate impact” cases.

They probably said the same thing - about Loving v Virginia

Some traditions are not worth keeping.

I really think it IS an American tradition, and a very cherished and important one at that, to actually evolve, and when it becomes apparent that freedom is being denied to a certain segment of the population, especially freedom to love and marry, to make that wrong right.

I feel gay marriage will be another victory and it should have happened years ago.
Well, if marriage can be redefined, then anything goes. - Just wait. xxx

That statue has been there 20 years now. Big deal!!! - It's rescued art from the Ukraine.
[ In Reply To ..]
Right-wing propaganda at its finest. I wonder if the propaganda machine whining about this statue informed the gullible viewers that the statue is art reclaimed from a Ukraine scrapyard by an American veteran or that the statue has been standing there in that Fremont art district since 1995, a few blocks from a salvaged Cold War rocket fuselage? Fremont is an artsy district with lots of artsy statues and stuff. (see link) During Gay Pride Week, they even dress the statue in drag. LOL.

Try not falling victim to the right-wing propaganda fear-and-smear machine telling you to be afraid of the slippery slope. The Fremont bronze sculpture of Lenin hasn't spawned a bunch of other statues of Lenin and never will. M'kay!
It's 2015. American tradition needs to catch - up to the rest of the world.

SCOTUS just handed the White House to Mitt Romney

"Barack Obama has just become a one-term President. Why? Four reasons:

1. Obama now has to defend the largest tax increase on the middle class in the history of middle class tax increases. Poor people won’t have to pay the penalty tax and the wealthy can easily afford health insurance.

2. Obama can’t run against the Supreme Court now. John Roberts joined the liberal wing of the Court and authored the majority opinion. So much for the “five Republicans in black robes taking away your healthcare” campaign meme.

3. A clear majority of the American people deeply oppose Obamacare without realizing that it was a tax increase.

4. Public revolt. The Supreme Court decision puts Obamacare right back on the public’s radar screen. It was the TARP, auto company bailouts and stimulus spending that gave rise to the Tea Party movement. In late 2009 and early 2010, the Taxed Enough Already Party was a loosely organized grassroots movement. By Election Day 2012, it had morphed into a political force that not only swept Democrats out of the House of Representatives, it ended Democrat rule in many states as well.

In 2012, Tea Party activists are now well organized. The takeover of so many state and local offices now gives Republicans a ground game they’ve never had before, and Obamacare is back on the menu.

Obama’s not only going to lose his reelection bid, it could be the biggest ass kicking since 1984."

******

Obama won the election with 332 electoral votes to Mitt Romney's 206. Well, at least they got the "ass kicking" part correct!

Yes, but now there's a difference. People now have - EXPERIENCE with Obamacare.

The only branch of government that the liberals control is the Executive branch, having had their hats handed to them in the last election. The GOP controls not only both houses of Congress, but way more state legislatures and more state governor's mansions, and more city and county governments as well. Oh, yeah - and independents are leaving your side in droves.
Not quite - Blanche

"The only branch of government that the liberals control is the Executive branch"

Seems to me the Judicial branch just upset a whole lot of conservatives. Maybe them gosh-darn liberals have taken over it, too.
And oh look! - Blanche
[ In Reply To ..]
They did it again today!
"Oh, yeah - and independents are leaving your side in droves." - You sure got that right!
[ In Reply To ..]
If by "leaving your side in droves" you meant the GOP side. LOL. See below for recent compiled data that Pew Research Center has been keeping for decades now. In fact, the GOP is the party losing ground to independents, while Democratic support has remain relatively stable. There is, in fact, almost a 10-point spread between those who lean Democratic/identify Democratic and lean Republican/identify Republican.

Add to that fact, for the 2016 Senate elections, Democrats are expected to have 10 seats up for election while Republicans are expected to have 24 seats up for election (a lot more seats to defend on the Pub side, the opposite of 2014 elections).

"Party Affiliation 1992-2014

Share of Political Independents Continues to Increase

The biggest change in partisan affiliation in recent years is the growing share of Americans who decline to affiliate with either party: 39% call themselves independents, 32% identify as Democrats and 23% as Republicans, based on aggregated data from 2014.

The rise in the share of independents has been particularly dramatic over the past decade: In 2004, 33% of Americans identified as Democrats, 30% as independents and 29% as Republicans. Since then, the percentage of independents has increased nine points while Republican affiliation has fallen six points. Democratic affiliation has shown less change over this period; it rose to 35% in 2008, fell to 32% in 2011 and has changed little since then (currently 32%).

Most of those who identify as independents lean toward a party. And in many respects, partisan leaners have attitudes that are similar to those of partisans – they just prefer not to identify with a party.

The balance of leaned partisan affiliation has changed little in recent years: 48% identify with the Democratic Party or lean Democratic, while 39% identify as Republicans or lean toward the GOP. Democrats have led in leaned party identification among the public for most of the past two decades." (see link)

*****

Those who read this far might recognize that 48% number of Democrats/lean Democrat; it is up in 2014 from Mitt Romney's famous "47%" in 2012 and projected to rise to about 49% by the 2016 election. Interestingly, the data shows that Democrats now hold a 12-point lead (52% to 40%) in leaned party identification among those with at least a college degree, up from just a four-point difference as recently as 2010 (48% to 44%).

While people have been known to lie, the yearly data actually tells it like it is.

PERSON 4 - "I'm really concerned about healthcare as is every Vermonter and I really feel like Bernie Sanders is on the right page."

PERSON 5 - "He's working for the people and he's not in anybody's pocket. Not Bernie."

I bolded the above portions which I believe are what is really driving his crossover appeal.
Still not convinced... Check out this clip from Morning Joe on Monday, 6/22/15 where they have a piece on how large the crowds were over the weekend at Denver.

I would agree that if they had not upheld it would have definitely handed the WH to the Democrats in 2016 with the fallout in healthcare, but the opposite is not true. The Republicans still have to slog through their mud to come up with a viable campaign....BTW --good luck with that.

Obamacare is designed to collapse so they can backfill the vacuum with government run socialized medicine. Eventually, everyone will be on some form of Medicare.
