Armed robbers kill 10 at Mexican beer distribution

Posted: Jun 21, 2015

Armed robbers slaughtered 10 people during a robbery at a beer distribution center Friday in Mexico, authorities said. The attackers, who targeted the warehouse on the outskirts of the northern city of Monterrey, got away with a paltry 10,000 pesos in cash, or $650, sources close to the investigation said. Nuevo Leon State Attorney General Javier Flores said that authorities are investigating the possibility that the attack involved organized crime. Drugs and a weapon were found at the scene, according to Flores. A state government official told The Associated Press that the attackers invaded the property, demanded money from the workers and then started shooting. Seven people died at the scene, and three more in a hospital. The victims were all believed to be employees. The attack took place in the town of Garcia to the northwest of Monterrey, the capital of Nuevo Leon state. The area has been racked by drug trafficking violence in recent years. ;

He said it did not happen in advanced countries. Most don't consider Mexico advanced, at least to the level of standard of living and society as the U.S.

I'm shocked by continued focus on weapons used rather than on the victims or motivation - after proven US racial hate crime/JS

The media and others are still attempting to steer conversations to the gun control law aspect, rather focusing on the victims or the motivation for the crime, regardless of weapon used.

It must feel like adding insult to injury to the families of the victims and is just disrespectful to our nation still in mourning over it.

But it IS very revealing about political agendas and where morals and values actually lie.

I still think it is a more benign subject - clearly argued and lines drawn

not a new subject--
gun advocates vs gun control

To actually discuss racism and hate groups--too much trouble, emotion, self-discovery, realization. All stuff that leaves media vulnerable to criticism every step of the way.

You see the controversy President Obama (funny controversy and Obama, can't imagine)got into with using the n-word in a discussion over racism. Oh no, don't say it, it doesn't exist!

Conservatives, especially those who get all their information from Faux News, have a rather remarkable disconnect from facts.

The guns program that eventually became known as F&F was started in 2005. You know, when Republican GWB was president? And Alberto Gonzales, another Republican, was Attorney General?

Holder and the current administration certainly hold some responsibility for not quashing this program when they became aware of it, but let's place the bulk of the blame where it belongs - on the people who started the program in the first place.

As an aside, I don't know why Conservatives are pretending to be so wound up over this program anyway - after all, isn't More Guns More Guns the answer to all of societies' ills?
The program started by the Bush administration did not let the guns walk - or expand it like Holder did

WASHINGTON -- Adolphus Busch IV, heir to the Busch family brewing fortune, resigned his lifetime membership in the National Rifle Association on Thursday, writing in a letter to NRA President David Keene, "I fail to see how the NRA can disregard the overwhelming will of its members who see background checks as reasonable." Guns And Intrinsic Danger. Or, "guns Don't Kill, People Kill"Dec 15, 2012
If I were at a party, left the adults and put a nerf ball in the familiy room where the children were playing, nobody'd think anything of it. If I put a loaded gun in there, every adult would rush to get it before the children did. THAT IS BECAUSE GUNS ARE INTRINSICALLY DANGEROUS. The only thing that changed was the presence of a gun, but no one would claim it was actually the children who were dangerous. Suicides by gun are much more likely to result in death than ANY of the other usual ...

NRA Wants Armed Guards In SchoolsDec 21, 2012
Of all the ways in which we could respond, this, in my opinion, is the most stupid. It should be noted that "good guys with guns" are not impermeable to gunfire. Fighting fire with fire is not the way for our society to evolve. The CDC is barred - legally BARRED - from releasing data on gun deaths because the NRA is such a strong lobby. Until which time this data is made available, the NRA should keep both sides of their mouths shut. And shame on all the spineless legislators who bow to the ...

Mexican Police Chief Killed With F&F RifleJul 09, 2013
The police chief was killed in January of this year but the story just came out yesterday. It would be wise to keep the pressure up on this gun-running scandal since more people are being killed in Mexico every day and there have been some incidences of murder in the border states, especially AZ and TX. This also is the reason why Immigration Reform should NOT be done until border security is done FIRST. The below story was found on one site called Power Line but the more involved story is ...

Former Mexican President Says Most Undocumented Immigrants Don't Want To Become US CitizensJan 26, 2015
The crackdown on illegal immigration combined with intensified border security has prompted large numbers of undocumented Mexican laborers to remain in the U.S. permanently -- even as many prefer to go home -- out of fear they will never be able to return, former Mexican President Felipe Calderon told International Business Times. In an interview on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, Calderon, who was president from 2006 to 2012, characterized the primary motive of undocumented Mexican i ...

I read this the other day but didn't post it, but now I found another article from March where a deputy police chief and his bodyguard was killed in March.  This is why AZ wants their law. Truly, now that the drug cartel has lookout posts on the tops of mountains in this area to warn the drug runners where the border patrol is, isn't that a case of invasion of the U.S. and shouldn't our government be able to "take them out?" The government has posted signs on 2 nationa ...

Armed Guards Posted At Unemployment Offices In Anticipation OfOct 31, 2010
