2016--thoughts

Posted: May 6, 2015

Just heard prediction there could be as many as 21 Republican candidates.  I wonder how bad they are going to tear into one another.  This has, in the past, made it very difficult for the candidate to recover from some of the accusations.  Of course, depends on the accusation.

On the other side, Democrats, with 2, not as certain there will be more.  I think Sanders will argue on the issues.  I think Clinton will give thought to the those issues/accusations and answer.  I don't think either one will get into background destruction.  Oh, sure, there is Lewinsky, Whitewater, Benghazi, I just don't think Sanders will go there.

Don't know about Sanders, but first and foremost Clinton will most definitely try to destroy her competitor with personal attacks. It is her MO and it is how she has made it in her career. Don't you remember what she did to Obama when running against him. The dirtiest of lows is when she portrayed her threat that he would not survive and for people to remember what happened to Kennedy. Clintons campaigns have always been personal attacks and threats and tries to destroy anyone who gets in her way. She will also continue to develop phony accents, pretend she knows how to pump gas and make a pot of coffee and will do anything and everything to slither her way to the top. By the time the elections come closer there will be more democrats running. Always is. Don't know who the republicans are going to have. There won't be 21, I've been reading quite a few website and nobody is saying there is that many. Will be interested to find out who runs. Clinton needs to go however, along with anyone Bush.

I'm hoping the Republican quit right where they are - Truthhurts

Some news sources are saying there are 21 running, but so far, I only see Rubio, Cruz, Walker, Paul, Fiorini, Carson, and Huckabee.

We can count Christie out and if Trump announces, he won't get the votes. Nobody likes Trump because he's too rich and too outspoken, saying what he wants to say.

BTW, been watching Bill and his comments lately. Seems he's losing it a bit. Not the quick comebacks like he used to have and seems a little cautious. Guess it's because of Hill. She probably told him to keep his mouth shut.

Yes, but to me it even seems a little more than (sm) - LM

it seems as if he has lost some of his "smooth operator" status. He was literally flounding about, trying to answer that reporter's questions, and he sounded foolish.

The more Pub candidates the merrier! It will - make for epic comedic viewing.

Already stocking up on that popcorn. Republican candidate debates will be off-the-charts when it comes to the bizarreness factor. Can't wait!

Yikes.. can you imagine how things would be - if TRUMP were President? Oy...

I can just hear it now. He'd be telling Big Pharma, Big Tobacco, Big Oil, all our country's scam HMOs, and yes - even our MTSOs, "I've got some tax breaks coming your way, and they're gonna be YUUUUGE!"
He would still be better than Hildabeast - At least
[ In Reply To ..]
He knows how to run things. The beast only knows how to run things into the ground, lie (oh yeah, just what we need more of) and is a neocon war mongerer.

No thanks.
Oh, he knows how to "run" things, alright. He'd - say "Youre fired" to even more - sm

American workers, and send so much work offshore, there'd be little to nothing left in the US to allow us "lower class" denizens (as the ones at the top see the middle class) to make a living. We'd end up fighting for garbage scraps and cigarette butts left on the ground in our nation's alleyways.
Naaaa...he would say your fired to the goofballs and goons in politics - which need to be fired

For running the country into the ground.
Well, at least we won't actually have to worry - about that happening. No one - sm

Well if it's between him and Hildabeast, Trump gets my vote - Someone has to vote responsibility

If they aren't Republicans, they won't get to debate - Truthhurts
[ In Reply To ..]
In fact, most of them won't get to debate because they are literally unknown. They won't have the money to keep fighting and they will drop out prior to the debates.

That goes for the Demonrats, too. Of course, everyone is afraid to run against Hill because of the Clinton scandals/deaths associated with them through the years.

LOL. "Demonrats"? Inane name-calling - appears to have become more - sm

How right you are. I just got through reading a book about them and it was pretty eye-opening. I think they're both evil.

Sanders said he never did a negative ad and won't - Truthhurts

[ In Reply To ..]
start now, so that tells me that he won't fight tooth and nail for the nomination

Hillary, just yesterday, stated she's on Obama's side where amnesty is concerned. So that will turn quite a few people off.

I think when people realize that Sanders is a "democratic socialist," that will turn some people off, but the word democratic will get people on his side because of it. Most people don't know the definition of a democratic socialist.

Full Definition of SOCIAL DEMOCRACY
1: a political movement advocating a gradual and peaceful transition from capitalism to socialism by democratic means
2: a democratic welfare state that incorporates both capitalist and socialist practices

In other words, implementing socialism slowly until the government owns all industries, utilities, etc., and people work for the government in those industries; i.e. worker cooperatives, and ensure public provision of basic human needs. What does that sound like?

If true Sanders said he's a democratic socialist, why was the - definition for social democrat provided instead?

[ In Reply To ..]
They are 2 vastly different things:

Democratic Socialist:
Democratic socialism is a political ideology advocating a democratic political system alongside a socialist economic system

Social Democrat:
A political ideology that officially has as its goal the establishment of democratic socialism through reformist and gradualist methods.

Geez, even Great Britain is democratic-socialist and they have a monarchy too! Countries can be several things at once, most are, we are exception.

You have to wonder if things like this are being uninformed or intentionally misleading people.

If not ignorance, then the difference between socialism and communism could be separated and defined as well.

Hello all.  I have been an MT for 20 plus years, yet not being a doctor, I can't seem to put a finger on what may be going on with me, but I do have some ideas.  Ten years ago I had a bowel resection for an obstruction and have since developed 4 massive incisional hernia in my abdomen.  They don't hurt, but occasionally flareup and change and it sends me to the ER everytime because Im afraid they may have gotten incarcerated.  Over the past 6 months I have noticed t ...

If you haven't seen it - I'd suggest watching it. This first 4 years is just Obama readying for his reelection (which hopefully won't happen). Check out his mentors/friends - "Frank" (the registered communist party member) when he was a child and throughout his adolescent years; Ayers (who did some terrorist bombings in this country); to name a few of the 5-6 that were represented in this documentary. Look closely at what has happened this past 4 years with Obama in office - if ...

Looking To 2016....Nov 11, 2012
Name three democrats and three republicans you would like to see run for President - not necessarily who you think will run, but who you would like to see run. Republican - Marco Rubio, Allen West, and John Kasich.  I'd love to see Condoleeza Rice run, but I still think the US isn't ready for a female president. Democrat - Dennis Kucinich, Evan Bayh, and Arne Duncan.  Hillary Clinton is another pick for me, but again, I don't think she'd get the nomination because ...

My family and I saw the movie, 2016 Obama's America, last evening. Whatever your party affiliation and however you plan to vote, you owe it to yourself to see this movie. People left the theater talking about it. It is very informative and very well done. I may even go and see it again this coming weekend because I could not absorb all the information presented. Frontline:The Choice 2016Oct 08, 2016
I watched this last night on television and it was quite an eye opener.  Seeing both Trump and Hillary in their formative years and seeing what makes each of them today - neither one had the start in life that everyone deserves.  And what path each chose - it explains alot.  It didn't make me like either one of them any better, but since they are what we are left with, I can only hope that the one who is elected can rise above what their past has been.   ...

After Watching 2016: Obama's AmericaAug 28, 2012
I understand Obama's drive to socialism. It's really anti-colonialism that his father and grandfather pursued, and now he is as well. In this movie, Obama is heard reading from his own book, Dreams from My Father, which lays out the theme of the movie. Obama has major plans to drive America to its knees economically and lead us in the direction of being like third-world countries. Spread the wealth around. I probably did not explain myself very well, so maybe the best advice I ...
