For the real circle of police and offenders

1) If you live/work in a war zone (ghetto, drug lair, whatever you might call it), except to be attacked, possibly shot by either side. You're living where people are expected to be criminals.

2) If you are up against someone with a gun, regardless of which side they're on, it would be wise to be quiet, humble, keep your mouth shut and do whatever they tell you. Charges can be filed later against the police officer, security officer, etc., after the heat of the moment is over.

3) If you don't like what the officials did to your friends, colleagues, family, don't burn down your house, your car, your stores. It makes you look irrational and more than just a little crazy, reinforcing the opinion and stereotype that people who live/work/walk here are mentally deranged. Thereby causing the others to have genuine fear of them, expecting them to pull weapons or at the very least act like crazed criminals.

4) If you live/walk/work near a red light district, best to wear conservative clothes and for Pete's sake, don't loiter at the corner. You're very likely to get picked up by someone named John either a customer or a police officer.

Learned that a long time ago when I was just a kid. How come grown adults have not figured this out yet?

True, there are stereotypes. Don't act like  them. No matter how free this country is, there are prices to pay for that freedom. If you don't want to pay the price, don't look like the stereotype.
