I HAVE ONE MORE REASON TO DISPISE THIS GOVERNMENT

Posted: Feb 25, 2015

Accountant did taxes today and I nearly broke my jaw when it hit the floor after I found out who much we are getting back from this rotten, stinkin, crooked government. Husband pays quarterly and federal taxes come out of my check. Between the 2 of us we paid $13,762 in taxes. We got back a whopping little over 2,000. This frickin government is keeping over $11,000 of our money and I don't want to give it to them. I don't believe in this system and I certainly do not believe in this government, neither republic or democrat. They are nothing but low life crooks, the whole lot of them with their wheeling and dealing in back rooms for every way to screw the middle class. Not a single one of them is worth a pot to p*** in and I certainly would not give you two red pennies to rub together for any of them. They all make me sick the frickin thieves that they are. I want to give them what they give us, a big fat nothing. I don't like the insurance I get through work so I thought I would try outside companies. I called Blue Cross and since we are offered insurance through work we don't quality for subsides. So for a policy for just me and my husband with a $3,300 deductible before they will pay a penny, ready for this, $980.00 per month. And that is what is called affordable care? So that policy would cost us $15,060 a year. So we got screwed again by this wonderful frickin government of ours. So I think this year I am telling my husband not to pay quarterly taxes and I am changing my dependents so they take out less. Then when its tax time, they are welcome to keep what they got from me and go to hell for the rest and we just will not file taxes. They don't make enough Vaseline to take this kind of screwing anymore. How many ways can I say I hate this government???? Let me count the ways. ;

Refund - me

[ In Reply To ..]
At least you're getting a refund. For the first time ever, we owed money this year. Not a lot, but it was still a shock.

didn't you get penalized - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
Our accountant has always told us to make sure we are withholding enough in taxes to avoid being penalized. So shouldn't you have been penalized for not paying in enough????

My husband and I had to pay too. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Not everyone gets a refund. What are you suggesting?
I asked a question. Why do I have to suggest anything??? - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
I asked a simple question thats all. Like I said I was told if you don't pay in enough at the end of the year you will be penalized and have to pay interest. And I would like to know if what he told us is true. Just a question, a simple question. Not suggesting anything. What do you think I am suggesting???
If I may interject - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
The penalties are based on a percentage. There is quite a bit of leeway as long as the underpayment is corrected. Don't know the exact figures, but we usually have to pay in a little.

No - me

[ In Reply To ..]
Like I said, it wasn't much. If we owned our own business & paid quarterly taxes, we'd have to adjust our payments, but we don't. I did adjust our W4s. Hopefully, next year won't be an "owe" situation, maybe a refund. IRS not likely to be interested in us.

$77,000 per year is a pretty good income - IMHO

[ In Reply To ..]
Which would be your estimated taxable income for husband and wife filing jointly paying in $11,000 per year in taxes. I assume you are speaking of the federal government since you did not specify.

That is the price you pay for living in society.

What would you like to get rid of? The military?

But why do you blame the Affordable care act for what private insurance wants to charge you? What do you suppose it was before Obamacare was created? It just sounds like you do not like Obamacare because you do not qualify for it. Perhaps you should try to make some political waves for universal one payer care.

The price we pay for living in society - nana7

[ In Reply To ..]
First of all don't try to figure out how much we made last year cause you are wrong. It really is none of your business how much we made last year.

Second I don't have a problem paying my fair share but I do have a problem with people that only put in 5-600 dollars and get back over 1-2 thousand. That my problem. You should only get back for what you put in, nothing more. If you don't put anything in you don't get anything back. It is not my responsibility to take care of people who don't want to better themselves, on welfare getting back thousands. My husband and I work hard to make a good living for our family, not anyone elses. Paying for living in society should be a shared cost, not just for some. You don't get a break when you go to the grocery store, or buy a car or anything else so why should someone get back more than they put in just because they are low income?

But thank you all for letting me come on here and vent. You are such a wonderful group of people that I can honestly say I am ashamed to say I was in any way, shape or form associated with.

TMI - FYI

If someone discloses their financial details by posting their income tax burden right down to the dollar amounts, should it be a surprise if someone reads it and speculates on the amount of their income?

That's how that whole none of your business thing is supposed to work.

Where your tax dollars are going... - SM

The liberal causes are too numerous to mention here, but the earned income tax credit going to the illegal aliens is beyond belief. We, as Americans, and particularly as medical transcriptionists, work very, very hard and we can't catch a break no matter how hard we try. Plain and simple, working hard pays for entitlements for the takers. And for once, spare me the liberal rhetoric about SS, Medicare and Medicaid. That is NOT what I'm talking about!! Let's keep it real. There are healthy individuals out there who are scamming the system and proud of it. There are single women purposefully getting pregnant so they can collect more and more welfare with each child. I've seen exposes on this involving people on BOTH sides of the aisle and including people of every color. It's sickening!!

If he pays quarterly, does this include SE tax - sm

which is 15.3% of which 2.9% is Medicare tax and 12.4% is Social Security on his income, if he is self-employed.

Well, Herman Cain wanted a flat tax - A transcriptionist

[ In Reply To ..]
And the powers that be lined up women coming up out of the woodwork to disqualify him for getting elected. Oh no, they couldn't allow simple fair taxation.

Herman Cain believes it was Rick Perry's campain that broke that story. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Still, he wouldn't be the first politician to have that type of mud flung at them by his political opponents. He should have fought the allegations like others have.

I don't think Herman would have won the nomination anyway, but I hear he's actually talking about running in 2016, so maybe there's still a chance he'll win the nomination, win the presidency, and get Congress to effect a sweeping change to our current tax system.

I am pretty sure that is sarcasm, right? - It is going to take a purge

[ In Reply To ..]
To get all that corporate money out of politics--you know, the money that allows corporations to make their money off US citizens, but then they do not pay taxes here. Unless you think someone like Herman nein, nein, nein could just do an executive action. . .
Sarcasm is right. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I was just trying to make a point. I have heard this line of rhetoric before whereby the right-wing assumes that Herman Cain was a shoo-in to become the President of the United States and that we'd have a flat tax system put in place now if only liberals hadn't derailed poor Herman.

Just saying that's a heck of huge assumption there. LOL. I don't think Herman actually ever had a snowball's chance.
That's a relief - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I am always so shocked when President Obama does a tiny executive action and the sound of conservative heads exploding is like a sonic boom. Then there are the repeated memes of blaming the government for corporation practices, (example blaming government for the cost of private insurance). Then you can debunk a crazy Fox story and the very next day they will be re-presenting the very same story as fact all over again.

You just never know anymore.

In the current fight over the government shutdown, Republicans are simply representing the views of the American people. Americans didn't ask for Obamacare, they don't want it, but now their insurance premiums are going through the roof, their doctors aren't accepting it, and their employers are moving them into part-time work -- or firing them -- to avoid the law's mandates. America is killing itself through its embrace and exaltation of ignorance, and the evidence is all around us. Dylann Roof, the Charleston shooter who used race as a basis for hate and mass murder, is just the latest horrific example. Many will correctly blame Roof's actions on America's culture of racism and gun violence, but it's time to realize that such phenomena are directly tied to the nation's culture of ignorance.
