So that's why Hagel 'resigned'!

Posted: Feb 1, 2015

(ABC News) Outgoing Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel acknowledged Friday for the first time that some officials in the White House disagreed with his slow pace in releasing Guantanamo detainees. He explained he was cautious because he took “very seriously” his responsibility to certify the release of detainees to ensure they did not return to the battlefield.

Full story at link.

But remember, these Gitmo detainees were probably not terrorists according to the logic of Obama.

I guess that's because he knows more than anyone - on any topic. Bottom line - he is an arrogant SOB, and that's all there is to it. Look how many have disappeared from his staff and positions of authority in the military. Coincidence? I think not.

Well seems so - anonie

They either quit because of something like this or else they can't take lying for him any longer. Perhaps he also has something on some of them as well. I would not put it past him.

He probably threatens them like the Chicago thug he is.

Anyway, this man has a huge ego problem and has probably got a mental illness considering the kind of upbringing he had.

I do not feel sorry for him however. I am going to be glad when he is gone but I am really afraid of what he will be able to accomplish till he leaves.

Maybe at least a little of all the evil that was done by the former administration can be undone, or at least held at bay.
Send pens to the White House to keep the - vetoes coming

Hagel Says Syria Has Used Chemical WeaponsApr 25, 2013
Now what will Obama do? Syria crossed the line that Obama drew. President Obama has said the verified use of chemical weapons by the regime would be a "red line" and a "game-changer" for U.S. and international military intervention in the Syrian civil war. Syria has been stockpiling chemical weapons and reports indicate it has sarin, tabun, along with mustard gas and hydrogen cyanide. A 2011 CIA report said Syria was also developing the potent nerve agent VX, which could render a city uninha ...

The Alarming Reality Behind Opposition To Hagel As SecDefDec 26, 2012
This is really about whether we want a war in the Middle East that  would dwarf anything we've been involved in there before.  Excerpts from: "Neocons Against Chuck Hagel: The Independent Senator Who Wouldn't Genuflect," by Doug Bandow, Senior Fellow. First, excerpts about him and them. Lower down about the end-times/Christian Zionist theology powering the Neocons and trying to lead us into what they see ultimately as Armageddon. That's okay. He was a bit weak anyway. Haven't heard a lot from him lately. John Kelly will be the new COS guy on Monday. Now they'll need to asign someone for head of the DHS. Hope it's someone as good as Kelly. What's going on now must be a 6-month shakeup but usually most shakeups and resignations happen closer to a year into a new administration. Still okay that this one is earlier because the earlier it happens, the sooner things will start working smoother. ...

AJE: Mubarak Has Resigned As Head Of Ruling NDPFeb 05, 2011
including his son, Gamal.  This is viewed as another red herring appeasement by Egyptians as he has not resigned as president and the NDP is notoriously corrupt, meaning nothing is keeping them from replacing old corrupt leaders with new corrupt leaders, as was the case with the appointment of Suleiman as VP.   Nonetheless, this is at least a symbolic baby step in the right direction, behind more substantial reforms, to include the establishment of a transitional go ...

"In case you haven’t heard, President Obama is considering appointing Chuck Hagel, a former United States senator from Nebraska and a Purple Heart winner, as the next secretary of defense — and this has triggered a minifirefight among Hagel critics and supporters. I think he would make a fine secretary of defense — precisely because some of his views are not “mainstream.” "... because he has rather bluntly stated that his job as a U.S. sena ...
