Tailor's bunion

Posted: Dec 25, 2014

Anyone ever had a tailor's bunion?  I have a large protrusion on the lateral side of my foot, but it appears to be only on the side of the foot, and does not seem to be at the base of the joint of the fifth toe.  The lump is getting larger, and the other night I needed to take something for pain to get to sleep.  I researched this condition, and the pictures shown online seem to show more of a bump at the base of the toe.  Not so in my case.  Thanks.;

I have something similar...SM - Old Anon

on my right foot between the base of the small toe and the heel. Podiatrist said it is an exostosis (excess bone growing on top of bone). It only hurts if I press on it or wear too tight shoes, so not going to have surgery to remove. I had a similar bone bump on top of my left foot from metacarpal bones rubbing together over the years due to an unstable foot from bunion and flat foot. I had this removed and it improved the situation. If you can, try to get a consult from a podiatrist to see what it is and what the cost would be to get it taken care of.

Thanks, "Old" - Not sure

I went today to see if I could perhaps buy something to apply to that part of the foot to cushion the area, but no luck. I didn't see anything that would work. I know eventually I will have to see a podiatrist about this, but dreading that. I hope I do not need surgery. It seems to be getting larger, however.
