If posters continue to call us Tbag, Tpub or whatever I say you allow us to call them Communitsts and Nazi's (at least that is more accurate).

Many people are taking great joy in insulting conservatives by calling them Tbags, Tpubs or referring to conservatives as teabaggers (then acting innocent as if they didn't know this was insulting).  This is not true.  Not all conservatives belong to the tea party.  They need to get it correct too.  If they want to refer to the tea party, then they are called tea party, not tbag or tpub.  If they did some research they would know this.  But seems they cant pass up a good chance to insult.

Therefore I think conservative posters should just start calling libs coms, dcom, or commies and see how they like it.  Probably will not be well accepted.  And now they now that coservatives are not tolerating their insults.

What's that saying - an eye for an eye?  Insult and get insulted back.

Just saying the board would be a much nicer place to visit without all the obvious insulting and ridiculing.

And those are my 2 cents. Thanks.

I understand Tpub to be a common abbreviation for Tea Party-Republican. I do not want to have to type Tea Party-Republican every time I want to identify a Tpub. I am quite comfortable being called a Lib. I do not think being called a commie or Nazi is appropriate at all. We Libs have been called that for a long time on this Board with no intervention, ruining this Board.

I am also sick and tired of the constant morphing of President Obama's name and FLOTUS into such disrespectful and derogatory names (you know what they are).

That calling posters Tpub and Tbag is offensive. So since posters like to call others offensive names they should have no problems with offensive names being called back.

No, Tpub is not a common abbreviation for Tea Party Republican. There is no tea party republican. There is tea party or Tea Party Movement and then there is Republican. Saying there is Tea party republican is like saying there is Communist democrat.

Of course you would be comfortable being called a Lib, because that is Liberal, just like I'm perfectly comfortable being called a con for Conservative or Pub for republican (dem for democrat). But as you stated being called a communist or nazi is not appropriate, neither is Tpub or Tbag.

I don't really care what people call politicians. Yes, of course I know what they are. Been coming here and reading their names along with morphing of McCain, Romney, Bush's, etc names. I don't really care. They are politicians, they have earned the names they are called. But posters here do not. But since you are sick and tired of morphing BO's name, are you also sick and tired of morphine Boehner or McCain or Romney's name? Most likely not.

I use conservative or right wing.

I don't mind anything anyone calls me anymore. Got a thick skin. I know who I am so therefore don't get offended by somebody who doesn't know me rattling off names at me.

Boo hoo, couldn't care less being called a liberal or any of that other stuff which I won't repeat here, but I do understand why you wouldn't want the tea in your pub. :)
That's all the post was saying. Republicans are not all - members of tea party
[ In Reply To ..]
and they don't like being called Tpub or Tbag, but they seem to like creeping it in, so they shouldn't be "whining" when they are called out as commies.

and one for republicans? That you can call dems "commies", but if we call repubs (even those who ARE teaparty members) "TPubs", we should be shot?

And what preaching? You guys are the ones preaching about "name-calling", yet when told you'd have to abide by your own "rules", you claim we're "preaching" to you?

Go sweep out the skull spiderwebs, and get back to us when you're done, because that post about dems "preaching" didn't really make any sense.

Beg to differ - Critical Thinker

[ In Reply To ..]
The tea party is not a political party, it is a political movement. This is according to teaparty.org, and teaparty911.com.

The tea party movement is very much a subset of the Republican party, representing a far right conservative position.

Noted tea party figures like Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Allen West, all identify as Republicans.

So you see, there is indeed such a thing as a Tea Party Republican. I'd hazard to suggest that most tea party adherents are republican (most, not all - some are too extreme even for the Republicans).

I am amused to see you suggest that the liberals here started the name calling ("they should have no problem with offensive names being called back"). I seriously doubt anyone can prove who cast that particular first stone. But if you're going to go running to the moderators, I suppose you'd want to spin it as if the other guy started the fight.

Didn't the mods recently post something about growing a thick skin?
You didn't get what I was saying. - You are not a critical thinker
[ In Reply To ..]
You either didn't understand my post or refused to understand what I was saying.

The tea party is a separate entity. Yes, they are a political movement. I wrote that in my message. I said it. You wrote it as though I didn't say it. Therefore going to go with you refusing to understand what I was saying.

Yes there are republicans that belong to the tea party movement, but it doesn't mean that all republicans are tea party members and as it's been stated on this board over and over, not all conservatives belong to the tea party movement and the term is used in a derogatory fashion here on this board. We've asked people to please stop calling us tpubs or tbags, so please stop. When you sit there and snicker knowing your getting an insult in that is the time to take a step back and not call them tpubs, tbags, etc. The term is offense to many. That's not whining. When liberals say they don't like to be called communists, that's not whining, that is asking people in an adult fashion to stop insulting. I guess it is beyond me why one group wants to continue to insult when they don't like to be insulted.

Thick skin? Do you really want to go there? Okay, we'll start calling all dems commies and then tell them to get a thick skin when they "whine" about it.

Once again many posters have expressed the dislike of being called a Tpub. So please stop. It's the only courteous and adult thing to do.
Dems aren't communists, either. Calling them - "commies" is equally incorrect.

I understood what you wrote perfectly well: "There is no tea party republican. There is tea party or Tea Party Movement and then there is Republican."

I simply consider it false, and demonstrated why, with examples to back it up.

Now, I'll grant you, a great many decent, moderate Republicans would like to distance their once-proud party from the tea party subset who seem to be trying to take over. But that only serves to support my position that "tea party republican" is a perfectly legitimate, descriptive, and accurate phrase.

[ In Reply To ..]
They lose and come to the realization that the country refuses to put another democrat in the white house.

First the elitists are in both parties. Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2, were bad, but Obama is the last straw.

We need a true leader. So far I don't know of any. Hillary is certainly not it and she has proven that mostly when she was the least effective SOS I have known since I don't know when. On top of that she is not qualified. She can't handle that 3am call. Her lies keep piling up.

But after Obama and what his policies and actions have done to the country is so damaging, the country will say enough of that BS.
Here is someone who clearly has no idea of demographics. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
And just to clarify, I mean that in no way disrespectful. The demographic reality reveals there are 18 states that have voted Democratic in the last 6 elections that have a total of 242 electoral votes.

"While about one third of the states have moved from one party to the other over the past 24 years, Democrats have been able to hold on to a larger number than Republicans. More importantly, the Democratic states have bigger populations and thus deliver more electoral votes.

Democrats can count on the two big prizes of California and New York, while Republicans can counter with just one super-sized state, Texas. The average state in the blue column delivers 13 electoral votes; the average on the red side is 8.

Here’s a look at the states that have voted the same way since Bill Clinton was elected in 1992 and the total number of electoral votes they now cast:

Democratic since 1992 -- Electoral votes
California 55
Connecticut 7
D.C. 3
Delaware 3
Hawaii 4
Illinois 20
Maine 4
Maryland 10
Massachusetts 11
Michigan 16
Minnesota 10
New Jersey 14
New York 29
Oregon 7
Pennsylvania 20
Rhode Island 4
Vermont 3
Washington 12
Wisconsin 10

Total 242

Republican since 1992 -- Electoral votes
Alabama 9
Alaska 3
Kansas 6
Idaho 4
Mississippi 6
Nebraska 5
North Dakota 3
Oklahoma 7
South Carolina 9
South Dakota 3
Texas 38
Utah 6
Wyoming 3

Total 102

Source: U.S. Electoral College

Other Republicans have weighed in on this Democratic advantage. A recent commentary in Red State, a self-described right-of-center website, suggested the problem is even worse than Will said.

"After totaling the electoral votes in all the solid blue states, it becomes apparent that even a below average Democrat presidential candidate could begin the race with a whopping 246 advantage," the author said. "No wonder President (Barack) Obama was so confident of victory in 2012 for he knew the game was practically over before it began."

University of Virginia political scientist Larry Sabato said the hurdle for Republicans doesn't look any better if you count the underlying votes by citizens, not just the electoral results.

"Democrats have also won the popular vote in five of the last six presidential contests," Sabato said. "The demographic shifts heading to mid century are all pro-Democratic." (see link)

I'm getting a lot of feedback from conservatives who are not part of the tea party and they don't like being called this. They've asked to stop being called Tpub or Tbag. Then doing some research you learn that the tea party movement is separate from republicans. Granted some republicans may belong to the tea party, but not all do. That's why I proposed if they want to insult and call us Tpub/Tbag they should have no problem with being called a communist or socialist. And since whenever commie is posted here it is deleted, as is other desparaging names towards the liberals then it need to be equally fair and get rid of the name calling of Tpub/Tbag.

Glad you liked my post.

What if there's a slash in it? i.e., "T/Pub"? - Since many republicans ARE T.P. members?
