Answers to prayer...sm - Old Woman

[ In Reply To ..]
do not always come packaged as we are expecting them. I am really sorry that you are going through such a tough time, and I will be praying for you just as soon as I finish this post.

I have always been told that there are 3 possible answers to prayer....Yes, No, and Wait. Sometimes when we get the "wait" answer, it seems that our prayers are going unheard and unanswered, but please don't lose your trust in God and belief that He sees the big picture and knows what is best for us. Please don't give up on Him. If I might suggest, look at recent events in your life and see if there is anything that you have overlooked with respect to how your prayers may be being answered. Are you sure that everything you have done to help your situation is in line with God's plan for your life? Are you sure there aren't circumstances that have happened or are happening that you are not aware of that may be God working things out for you? Please understand that I am not judging you or your prayer life or your relationship with God; it's just that sometimes we all get so bogged down in our own problems that we can't see when things are being arranged in order to meet our needs, not necessarily our wants.

I don't know your circumstances, obviously, but they do apparently involve your children. Lift those babies up to God for His love and protection and guidance. As I said before, I will now take time to pray for you and your circumstances as I know that God knows your needs and wants to fulfill them according to His plan. May God bless you and your children.

Thank you:) I appreciate your prayers for us all! - nm

Not believing - still there after about 30 years

[ In Reply To ..]
I have been where you are and remain there though my son is now an adult 41 years old.

Long time ago I prayed that my ex would not be able to get our son, though I didn't ever say he could not see him.

In that family, my ex's mother did the same thing to my ex's real father and I saw the damage it did to him. He did remarry as I was not permitted to do after praying about that as well and so my ex eventually got our son to go with him primarily so he would not have to pay child support which I had to go to our county DA to get.

I prayed and prayed. Through the years the damage done to our relationship has made us have long separations of years.

At least you have your children. I wish I had had my son. He is my only child and my heart still aches that God did nothing to help or stop my ex and what he was doing. My ex is a sick person though he claimed if I ever disagreed with him, that I was crazy. I think he has told our son something that is not true about me, but my son will not talk about the past. So I therefore stay in pain emotionally. I have been depressed since he went to live with his father when he was 13 years old. I knew what he would be in store for.

My ex was abusive physically, mentally and spiritually as well. I cannot understand my son not wanting to know the other side after being brainwashed.

Truly evil situation. I have never sought vengeance myself. I have just begged God to deal with my ex and to open up my son's eyes to what was really true.

Seems liars always win and people who try to be Christian and do the right thing lose. I am not happy with my faith right now. I used to have a lot of faith. I have not been to church in years now mostly because of a physical ailment that keeps me by the bathroom all the time and for which I have tried to get the right medicine which was way too expensive and now that I have it has stopped working after a couple of months.

So tell me I am not discouraged.

The only thing I will say is that I guess my faith has more of a personal issue than believing in Him exactly. It is that I just do not believe He hears me any longer so why ask for anything or for help. Just never seems to come.

I can believe for others but not me.

Maybe that is where you are right now. I know that these appear to be the last days as told in the Bible so I continue to believe that Jesus is going to return. I am just not so sure He will take me with him.

I also see what is going on in the world and while it is scary, I feel that God has control and will ultimately win against the evil.

Maybe we should pray for each other. I certainly hope that things turn around for you.

If you want to write me privately, maybe you can send me an e-mail and we can converse, not that I can really help you that much, but at least maybe you would have someone to care.

I have hardly any family but my son who is presently again not communicating with me or coming around. I am down to a few cousins now and most live in other parts of the country. I have some cousins here who I have had to make my POA and to take care of my affairs. It is awful when you feel so alone.

Take and enjoy whatever parts of the day you can and always enjoy your children.

Again, I will pray for you and your family. It cannot be easy for you. Does the law not do anything.

When I got my divorce, they didn't have so much about abuse as now a days. My attorneys were only interested in compromise and not in what I was telling them. Child protective services along with a psychiatrist treating my son when he ended up on the hospital for depression did either.

The biggest thing was that no one listened to me though I did know what I was talking about. Most times people think you are obsessing about something when in fact you are scared to death about what will happen and if it will happen. How can we not be concerned about our own kids.

I see the damage my son has now from his father's actions and teaching and it makes me physically ill.

My 2 cents - sbmt

I have also gone through really hard times, and so have so many others. Life can be so difficult and unfair and will continue to be that way this side of heaven. Spouses cheat, parents abuse, friends betray, kids go down the wrong paths, etc., etc.

We are human and want things to go the way we planned. When we get answers to prayer we praise God and feel so close to him, and when our prayers are not answered the way we want we shake our fists at heaven in anger and want to walk away from God.

I guess it would not take much faith to believe in a God who made all of our problems go away instantly. I know that is what I want also. Life treats some of us harder than others, but one day that will all change, and all of the struggle, worry, heartache, and pain will be over once and for all. The Bible tells us to press on and bear one another's burdens. I truly believe that is the only way to get through really hard times with our faith intact.

I am praying for you right now. Please don't give up.

waste their time because it's not somebody (Joe Curl) or some newspaper they can believe no matter how truthful the analysis or opinion of the writer. Wonder what it will take to wake people up to the real world?  So do I, but a lot of people need to do some serious, sober thinking about immigration policy. A long article (link below), but worth reading.  There are many, many serious problems that are arising in Europe with connection with immigrants from certain areas - males in particular - and there would be something exquisitely bizarre if we were to follow Europe's example AFTER having had the chance to clearly see what ...

that is there is a dime's difference between Republican and Democrats. Not Believing "polls" That Women Don't Support Trump Either.Oct 10, 2016
I belong to three other large, mostly female sites on line. These aren't political (for instance, one is a large crafting site). I'd call one of them about evenly split. The other two are leaning Trump. For sure, none of them is pro-Hillary. And you can do this with just about any photo of the crowds that Trump gets. (See link.) Of course, Hillary's own internal polls are telling her the same thing, which is precisely the reason for the latest dirty political trick. You ...

I was watching the news at the gym yesterday and our Voter registrar said that by that time, there was 100,000 more voters registered to vote than 4 years ago.  Today at 3:00 this is what we have achieved: Nearly 100,000 people have voted so far Officials at the State Elections Office are reporting that as of 3 pm Tuesday, about 100,000 Clark County residents have cast their votes at local polling stations. This is in addition to the over 258,000 county residents who cast ballots during th ...

MTs Going Through Hard TimesAug 25, 2010
Sometimes, when I read posts about MTs going through hard times (many of us these days), I think about inviting one of them to stay in my home for perhaps a year in order to get a little ahead.  I live alone in a rural area and have a lovely home.  There's not much to do here, but it's pleasant enough, and the cost of living is reasonable.  I've been through a few rough patches myself, but I'm with a pretty stable company now and am enjoying my work.  I ...
