Whenever I see some excerpt here regarding President Obama, I immediately know there is a spin, error of omission or what have you.

Here is the actual quote from the 60 minutes interview:

The president was asked by 60 Minutes correspondent Steve Kroft about comments from Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who has said the U.S. not only underestimated ISIS, it also overestimated the ability and will of the Iraqi military to fight the extremist group.

"That's true," Mr. Obama said. "That's absolutely true."

"Jim Clappper has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria," he said, blaming the instability of the Syrian civil war for giving extremists space to thrive.

Of course, the context of all this is in the face of an agreement that former President Bush had in place and the political/religious climate of the Mid East.

What I want to know is why has the Congress all gone into hiding? I am guessing that in 2 years, Boehner and cronies will have counted on everyone to forget the context of the latest flareup and blame the Democrats because Obama has had to deal with this alone.
