'Dereliction of duty': Obama's worst scandal

Posted: Sep 17, 2014

First public hearing is today since Boehner announced the formation of the Select Committee on Benghazi.

;

When it comes to "dereliction of duty", John - Boehner is the poster-child.

Just saying....if everyone would stop deflecting - and it's done on both sides - we could have a real conversation here......

That was no deflection; it was the truth. - Learn to know the difference.

In case you haven't heard, Boehner had nothing to do with Benghazi. It was all BO and his administration. This was a classic attempt at deflection, but it doesn't work. Sorry, we see right through the left's tactics.
Wait, what? - sm

You said: "We see right through the left's tactics."

Did you perhaps also see through the fact that Boehner's name happens to be in the OP? The OP's post said: "First public hearing is today since Boehner announced the formation of the Select Committee on Benghazi." The person who responded stayed on topic in responding.

We liberals think you conservatives are confusing disagreement with deflection. We liberals think that if anyone has committed "dereliction of duty," it is Boehner for forming yet another committee regarding this subject when it's been hashed and rehashed already now to the tune of millions of taxpayers' dollars, all in an attempt to find some fantasy version of Benghazi that exists only in the minds of conservatives. We liberals think it's time that conservatives moved on from losing the election and the poor handling of the Benghazi incident by their candidate.

Candidate Romney's team jumped the gun and tried to spin the tragic events of 9/11/12 in Cairo and Benghazi to his political advantage (as he had promised in a secretly taped video), and at worst case scenario, candidate Obama's team, in response to the events and to candidate Romney's spin, attempted to spin an explanation of said events to his political advantage. They're both politicians, and Romney's team came out with guns blazing before the 4 dead Americans' bodies were cold and blamed Obama, while Obama's team put the best spin on it they could with the facts that were happening at multiple embassies. Too bad Romney looked really bad the way he spun it. Too bad he didn't pay attention to Obama's speech in the Rose Garden the day after or at least get briefed by his team regarding the speech. Too bad Romney believed the inaccurate version of events he saw on the conservative news channel. On the scale of moral transgressions, Obama has done no worse than what his adversaries of Romney, McCain, Lindsey Graham, Boehner, and others did then and are doing now by exploiting and amplifying their outrage for their own opportunistic political gain, all over the bodies of 4 dead Americans who must play the role of fodder for political theater. The conservatives' spinning of the charade has only backfired so far, and I'm guessing its continuation is going to backfire some more.

We liberals long for the days when all conservatives were whining about was the repeal and replacement of Obamacare. Now THAT was actually deflection.
Without getting off topic like you, I stand by my OP. - Poster WAS deflecting.
[ In Reply To ..]
Boehner had nothing to do with Benghazi on 09/11/2012. Period. End of story. Dereliction of duty falls on the shoulders of BO and HC.
Was following the subject of 'dereliction of duty'. - That describe Boehner. NOT a deflection.

Period, end of story. - sm

Somebody needs to explain here how the words "period" and "end of story" automatically turn false statements into true ones. If somebody makes a post with the statement "first public hearing is today since Boehner announced the formation of the Select Committee on Benghazi" in it and somebody else responds talking about Boehner, that is deemed deflection when a conservative "stands by it" and insists it is and uses the words "period" and "end of story." Why? Because conservatives stand by and firmly believe it is deflection to talk about Boehner and the Benghazi hearings in response to a post talking about the totally and completely and utterly unique subject of Obama and Boehner and the Benghazi hearings.

This same attitude of insisting a certain version of events is correct (even though facts prove otherwise) is EXACTLY the attitude that conservatives have regarding the entire issue of Benghazi and why they'll never be satisfied no matter how many hearings there are and how much time and money is wasted trying to prove the fantasy version of events they believe, which are events that actually NEVER happened.

If Boehner appointing yet another commission to prove what the previous 7 commissions have not been able to prove is not "dereliction of duty," then what is? I promise you that NO ONE is going to admit to issuing a stand down order that was never issued. No "dereliction of duty" is ever going to exist just because Mitt Romney and conservatives since minute one have chosen to spin the story and politicize the tragic event in a pathetic attempt to belittle their political foes. I promise you that the facts are not going to change to fit the spin no matter how hard you believe the steady stream of propaganda on the television.

When Romney chose to slam the Obama administration at the same time as the US ambassador and three other Americans were killed in Libya, conservatives gave the appearance of exploiting an international tragedy, and whether warranted or not, the timing was insensitive and showed that Romney and conservatives were more interested in scoring political points and spinning than the actual deaths of the Americans. Conservatives are still spinning, and it's still pathetic and insensitive, but it's all they've got to offer because they have nothing else.
More deflection. Period. End of story. - nm

Sorry, but us liberals don't fall for the propaganda routine where repeating something false over and over automatically means it becomes true.

Obama Will Leave His Party In Its Worst Shape Since TheAug 21, 2015
As historians begin to assess Obama’s record as president, there’s at least one legacy he’ll leave that will indeed be historic—but not in the way he would have hoped. Even as Democrats look favorably ahead to the presidential landscape of 2016, the strength in the Electoral College belies huge losses across much of the country. In fact, no president in modern times has presided over so disastrous a stretch for his party, at almost every level of politics. Legacies are often tough to ...
