Problems for the Gentle Giant. Looks like he had a second degree

Really? I believe that is just a twitter rumor - not substantiated in any way

[ In Reply To ..]
Can you substantiate it? I wish people wouldn't further rumors like this which are unsubstantiated.

Which seems to have been made up by desperate right wingers, since, as with the police officer's busted eye socket, they are trying their best to come up with a reason and/or defense for this officer, who has not had the courage to speak for himself.

What is NOT a rumor is that the police officer who killed the Gentle Giant in cold blood was fired, as was the entire police force of the nearby town he was working in, because of racial tension with the African American community.

That is a fact that was in the Washington Post. Where's is yours from?

It's all over the place at this moment. - A different poster...

[ In Reply To ..]
Wow! Guess he doesn't look so innocent now, eh? But still, we need to wait until all the facts of THIS case are known.

Wow, I haven't seen it all over the place! - wonder why

[ In Reply To ..]
Nup, I know why. Because "all over the place" is Fox News, Daily Caller, etc., all these kinds of sites which play fast and loose with the truth.

Real news sites have taken to saying "Fox News is reporting ___" which they THINK gets them off the hook for this garbage, but it really does not, witness the recent fall of CNN trying to get in on the scandalmongering.

Guess Michael Brown DOES look very innocent to me now. If he were not innocent the cop would have been on every news show telling his story and making a bundle. But no, he is hiding.

The only thing that matters is what happened to cause his death. The smearing and character assassination has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with this incident, the officer had NO IDEA he was even on that video of questionable shoplifting, so he came upon this boy with absolutely NO knowledge of any prior or current reason to question him, much less shoot him.

Those ARE the facts as we know them now. I'm not waiting for the details, because the right wing character assassination machine is not waiting to put out anything they can possibly use to try to smear this young deceased man. For shame.

Why don't you guys wait before you repeat these unsubstantiated rumors or at least give me one credible source?

No, I do not believe 9/11 was an inside job, just making a point.

What's Michael Brown got to do with 9/11?
I guess they're trying to blame 9/11 on Michael - Brown now. (NM)

Odd how you can't find it anywhere on the REAL - news. Keep those rumors flyin!

[ In Reply To ..]
Then that kind of blows your theory of it being - "REAL news" nm
[ In Reply To ..]

It was SPECULATION by the citizens' online - news site, "GotNews.com"

[ In Reply To ..]
that he had a record. Most likely they are just digging for reasons to let this killer cop back on the force again.

Not speculation - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Speculation means "opinion based on incomplete information: a conclusion, theory, or opinion based on incomplete facts or information"

If it was "speculation" it wouldn't be going to court right now. Lawyers and judges do not do this merely on someone's "speculation".

Facts are facts. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they are not facts. It is in the course system and under investigation right now.

The guy made songs about his life -
“With this Glock in your face. And you betta not make a sound. And I only like white men on my money [???].

And since that is perfectly okay you'll enjoy this one equally as much:

“My favorite part of killing people is when they hit the ground. Every time I call your (bleep) I make her (bleep). And when she (bleep) I’m (bleep) all over her (bleep). I beat that (bleep) up. I’m smoking purple. I roll fat blunts they look just like my thumb. While I bless him with a (bleep) on his face.”

The article (and no it's not from Fox) states:

"it certainly gives us a small taste of who the real Mike Brown really was. Combined with the fact that Brown severely beat Officer Wilson to the point of an orbital fracture rupturing his eye socket, draw your own conclusions."

Psst...news flash...Cops all over the country have to make a split decision. When you have a criminal coming after you, severely beating you, sometimes they have to make a decision. He was not a "killer cop". He was a police officer that had to make a decision. And if it was me and I was getting beat up...well nobody needs any explanation on that one.

How do you know what songs - he made about his life?

[ In Reply To ..]
Where did you get that nonsense from?

Funny how we are able to know absolutely nothing about the officer's life and background, but the young man's life seems to be ripped open at the seams to try to find him guilty of something simply because he is a young black teenager.

News flash to you...psst...There was NO orbital fracture! Have you not heard that? The officer was striding around after the killing, proud of himself. No proof he was beat up AT ALL.
It's in the news - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Did you not read my message. I specifically stated "(not Fox)". All you have to do is some research and you will find the information, ah, but then again that would go against your nonsense of this gangsta being innocent and you don't want that do you. You'd rather post the nonsense of his race.

Oh and don't you worry yourself of a man's life "being ripped open at the seams to try to find him guilty of something". You are doing a fine job of it to that police officer that was beat up. But hey, he's a white guy so guess that's okay for you.

Oh yeah, and pssst news flash for ya...

It has been confirmed by two sources that "that police Officer Darren Wilson suffered facial fractures during his confrontation with deceased 18 year-old Michael Brown".

"Local St. Louis sources said Wilson suffered an “orbital blowout fracture to the eye socket.” This comes from a source within the Prosecuting Attorney’s office and confirmed by the St. Louis County Police."

Have you not heard that? Or are you just ignoring the facts.

Yeah, that's what I thought.
I think you need to supply a spoon. - nm

makes me wonder how they make it in the MT world - if they don't know how to
[ In Reply To ..]
research. It's out there. They can research and cross reference. But then again that would mess up their nonsense of this guy being innocent. He stole, beat up the clerk and beat up a police officer. Heck I can see why they don't want to research. Those things called facts would get in the way.

CNN has a source that the x-ray - came back negative
[ In Reply To ..]
For fracture. He just had a swollen face, apparently.

There are many more links about the "beating" but they all are from similar websites with similar wording, if you know what I mean, and even this video from CNN says we will not know what happened until it is presented in court.

Those two sources were what, his girlfriend and another cop? Hearsay. There is no definitive evidence he had a fracture.

Ya know what? I don't even care if the police officer WAS beat up, he should NOT have killed Michael Brown, that's my opinion. All these "gangsta" references are probably what he believed just by looking at Michael Brown, and why he felt justified shooting him. He was NOT justified shooting him, that much is obvious.

But ask yourself how you would feel if a 6 foot 4 inch white boy got in a scuffle and got shot for no reason? Because there was no reason.

No facts to ignore. No facts at all.

Yeah, that's what I thought.
Yeah I figured that's what CNN would say - CNN is not physicians
[ In Reply To ..]
Or x-ray techs.

I don't really care what CNN reported as they are fueling this. Maybe they should stick to news and leave the investigations, x-rays, medical reports, etc to the doctors who can verify the police officer had these injuries.
Ditto Fox News and - all the rest
[ In Reply To ..]
Why are conservatives allowed to cite "two sources confirmed injury" and that is taken as sure proof, yet when CNN sources say no fracture on x-ray, that is somehow bogus?

I agree we need to hear about the investigations, yet we have not seen any x-rays, any doctor reports, anything to verify anything. Why the delay, I wonder?

If CNN is fueling this, what about the myriad of websites and blogs that are fueling the theory of the orbital fracture regardless of no evidence? CNN is the only one out there virtually who is negating this, and as far as I can tell they have no more or less evidence to go on than all the other sites, except the verbal report that the x-ray did not show fracture.

When it comes to research, we all know as MTs that just because Google has a lot of hits for something does NOT necessarily mean it's correct. Well, when it comes to this kind of thing it in about a million times worse. Just because you get a lot of hits and pages swearing the officer has all these injuries and Michael Brown was a thug is only because these bloggers and "news" sites know what their audience wants to hear, NOT that that is true.
If that cop REALLY had an "orbital blowout - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
fracture to the eye socket," there would be photos of him showing this injury all over the place.

Yet, I haven't seen one photo. What I DID hear was that the St. Louis County Police were on the side of the cop.

be it speculation or not, it's still not relevant - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
All kinds of people say all kinds of things. It is simply not relevant and has no bearing on whether someone is allowed to get shot.

Ferguson Fact Check - sm

[ In Reply To ..]

Any second-degree murder charge that might exist, which I can find no credible source to corroborate, would be irrelevant to this case since there was no way the officer could have known about it; it's existence would not matter as Michael Brown is not on trial, he is deceased.

I read the entire thread, did my usual thorough research, talked to my sources, etc., and here are the facts as told by eyewitnesses:

* "According to the store's owner, police didn't issue a subpoena for the store's surveillance video until last Friday [08/15] — the day it was provided to the media by police officials, along with the name of Officer Darren Wilson, who fatally shot Brown a few minutes after the incident at the store. Officer Wilson was not aware of the alleged robbery, and he was not pursuing Brown as a suspect. The fatal encounter began when Wilson rebuked Brown and his friend, Dorian Johnson, for jaywalking."  Neither the owners nor any employees of the Ferguson Market called 911; the report was made by a customer following what appeared to be an altercation between the 6’4″ Brown and a much smaller store employee after surveillance shows him at the counter. The clerk gets pushed around a bit by Brown, looks like an escort to the door gone wrong, maybe.
Video:
http://fox2now.com/2014/08/15/store-owners-talk-about-surveillance-released/

* "An excerpt of the security video shot from a different angle shows the figure identified as Brown at a check-out counter paying for the cigars before the apparent confrontation with the store clerk."  You can see his friend Dorian Johnson in the video waiting behind him (left) in the surveillance tape.  They turn to leave out the door, Brown drops some things, bends over to pick them up, you see a clerk coming from behind the counter, looks like to maybe escort them out the door, even glances over at Brown and passes him by, doesn't look the least bit afraid.  Looks like Brown basically pushes him in a kind of "I don't need any help you little expletive."   A clerk that was robbed would not generally come up behind you and meet you at the door; they'd call 911.  It seems as though this clerk and Brown are familiar with each other.
Video:
http://www.lewrockwell.com/lrc-blog/did-michael-brown-steal-cigars-or-pay-for-them/

* Dorian Johnson, the friend who was with Michael Brown in the video and witnessed the entire incident gave this report of events at the scene.
Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xM_oyFPMcOY

* Other eyewitnesses to the shooting say Michael Brown was running AWAY from the officer and was shot from behind and then turned around with his arms up trying to go down to the ground when the officer overtook him and fired on him at close range from above.

* One eyewitness said she saw the entire shooting, left for 30 seconds to get her cell phone, returned to her window, and then taped the scene immediately after the shooting.  Officer on the right is Darren Wilson.  He is not injured at all that one can see.  He does not hold his eye in any way.  My sources say if his eye socket was broken/injured, 90% chance he'd be in pain and holding it but small chance he might also might be in shock and not realize pain at that point.  He does not appear in pain at all, and all the eyewitnesses say no one touched the officer in any way, that the two boys were hit by the officer's car door while officer reached through window triying to grab Brown and pull him toward the vehicle, and then they both took off running only AFTER the officer fired a shot from inside the car and hit Brown.
GRAPHIC Video (intentionally blurred):
http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/us/2014/08/18/newday-intv-ferguson-shooting-crenshaw.cnn.html

* Private autopsy report is showing 4 shots in the arm, one is back to front, and 2 fatal shots fired into the head from overhead/above Brown and downward, one shot into the top of the head, one shot in the right orbital area, leaving a wound with multiple entry points in a straight line caused by 1 shot (connected by dashed line in drawing).  These two shots are definitely intention to kill, no way around that fact regardless of any other facts in evidence.
Video:
http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/bestoftv/2014/08/19/ac-autopsy-questions.cnn.html

* The shots are actually recorded on audio, as someone was using an app called "Glide" on their phone to record a live message to a friend and also unknowingly at the time recorded the shots.  In the audio, there are 6 shots fired in rapid succession which are followed by a pause, then followed by 4 more shots in rapid succession.  This would most likey be 6 running shots, and 4 close range shots fired as Brown turned around, stopped and dropped, 2 into the head directly from above.  Ten total shots fired with at least 6 hitting Brown, and I would guess 1 striking him as he runs, he then turns as the officer is shooting, with another striking him, and finally 4 shots at close range which all strike him (that's a total guess, however).
Video:
http://fox2now.com/2014/08/26/possible-new-audio-evidence-in-the-michael-brown-case/

* The maker of the Glide app has authenticated the audio.
"Because Glide is the only messaging application using streaming video technology, each message is simultaneously recorded and transmitted, so the exact time can be verified to the second. In this case, the video in question was created at 12:02:14 PM CDT on Saturday, August 9th."
Story:
http://blog.glide.me/post/96012321805/in-the-moment-glide-verifies-ferguson-shooting

 * Lastly, the officer was reportedly taken to the hospital for x-rays, which were negative, for some swelling around his eye.  All the eyewitnesses say that neither of them struck the officer (maybe he got hit by the car door?) and that they both just ran.

So there you have it.  The age of video surveillance, cell phones, and social media apps captures the evidence.  Direct evidence tells the tale.  Looks like the police officer has some explaining to do, like the 2 downward kill shots of an unarmed person running away after the officer fires on him.

The police officer certainly appears untouched in all the cell phone footage I saw.  If the officer actually was hurt, it doesn't remotely seem like it in the videos.  If he was injured later, wonder how he got hurt?  I have my theory, and it's not looking good for the police department when you examine both the timeline and the direct evidence.

Thanks for all your time and effort with this. - sm

Grand juries don't reveal findings. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Grand juries are legal bodies empowered to conduct official proceedings and investigations regarding potential criminal conduct and then determine whether or not there is enough evidence presented to warrant criminal charges be brought. Grand juries are generally confidential and do not reveal findings.

Some of the evidence the Grand Jury will see is presented in the post. I can promise you that based on the evidence I've seen, Officer Wilson has either retained or is looking for a very good lawyer. He is going to need one.
