This is tragic on so many levels.

"A 32-year-old woman was found dead inside her SUV in a convenience store parking lot, where she was trying to get some extra sleep between shifts at her four part-time jobs, the New Jersey Star-Ledger reports."

she was driving around with a container of gas in her car. They suggested it might have been easier to just stop for gas. I bet I know exactly why she did that. Her gas gauge was probably broken and she could not afford to fix it, so she didn't know when she might run out of gas.

I drive around with a container of antifreeze in my car because there is a slow leak in the antifreeze reservoir. My (well-off) friend keeps asking me, "When are you going to get that fixed?" I guess she, like lots of other people, cannot understand that when you're poor, there is a long list of expenses, including repairs, that must be prioritized. When a poor person prioritizes the expenses on that list, most of the time only the first few items (food, housing, utilities) are all that can be addressed.

Silly me, I'm choosing food over repairing the leak in my car.

This poor soul worked 4 jobs and obviously still could not afford to address a problem with her vehicle.

So many very fortunate people out there with not a clue. - ETOHPRN

I used to get so angry and disgusted at people who made such thoughtless remarks and judgments. Now I just realize they are just sapping my own inner strength and there is nothing I can do about them. Until they walk in someone else's shoes, they will never get it.

There are so many people like this lady that we will never know their struggles. It sounds like she was a wonderful human being who touched many lives in a positive way while she was here, and isn't that what it should really be all about?

This would be funny if it were just a voice recognition gaffe but an offshore MT typed it and the doctor signed it of course.   Dictated:  For surgery tomorrow, the patient is to be NPO after midnight. I Learned Something New And Tragic TodayOct 16, 2013
Did you all know that women are not equal to men under the law on a Federal level?  As in, there is no constitutional gurantee of our rights as citizens of the US?  As in, any rights that we do currently have at the fed/state level can easily be rescinded because there is no constitutional guarantee of protection? I had no clue and I'm pretty p.o'd!! ...

Any Hints On How To Get Blood Sugar Levels DownFeb 14, 2015
I wrote below about glipizide.  I am waiting for that to come in the mail.  They had me stop taking metformin due to swollen ankles.  My ankles and feet still swell up, but I cannot get my blood sugars under control.  I'm now into eating salads and drinking water. Tonight it will be grilled chicken and a salad.  For lunches I bought some veggies to steam.  Very little to no sugar.  No breads, pasta, rice.  I thought I did very well this morning but my ...

amount of stuff in homes (on average, of course).  *Men's did not (big surprises here). So, two years ago we bought a 50-year-old mobile home on a canal in Florida from a snowbird couple who hadn't spring cleaned the drawers and cupboards in lots of years (can't do that from a car headed north after all). So I took a vanload to Goodwill and kept what I thought we could use in a vacation place. Today I did stage 2 and got rid of 90% of that. Which made me think of this book ...

Trump Levels The Playing Field. Obama Allowed Google And Facebook,Apr 05, 2017
broadband rules. Facebook and Google have always been protected because they worked with Obama. All Trump did was say this is not fair, so other should be allowed to do it too. It was the Obama administration who actually put restrictions on the internet service providers — the content providers — in order to protect political donors, Facebook and Google. Of course, it's being reported as just the opposite. ...
